If the Eagles don’t get Watson, I’d be less interested in trading down in the draft for a 2023 pick. Now, I’d obviously be open to any move. If a team you project to suck in 2023 wants to trade up, then sure go for it. Hope for a top 10 pick next year. But if like the Bengals or someone wants to move up for an OT, F that.

My logic: the obvious next step if no Watson is to trade up in next year’s draft for a QB. The price is going to be astronomical. There are going to be like 10 teams all trying to move up, if the teams that have the top picks are even willing to trade out, which is no guarantee.

I don’t want Howie to even get tempted to trade up for Bryce Young and CJ Stroud, who IMO are overrated. Those guys are not Joe Burrow, Andrew Luck type QB prospects. If somehow the Eagles are in position to take one of those guys without trading up, sure. But trading 3 first and multiple 2nds to trade up for CJ Fing Stroud… just fold the franchise.

Don’t even let Howie get tempted with that crap.

Nelson will be looking for a better payday.  He missed out on this stage of FA last year.

But I get the notion that they need a serviceable CB opposite Slay, without relying on the basket of mediocrity that they added to the roster last season.

I get it, but if it's a one year deal for a vet I'll take the guy who has a year in the system. I don't think Nelson gets that big 3-4 year deal he's looking for.

If the Browns trade for Watson and we end up trading for Baker Mayfield, I will lose my mind. Just have a bad feeling about it for some reason. Hoping Watson goes to Saints for many reasons.

I would in no way be interested in matching that if true. Don't even think we could. We don't have young stud defenders.

DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Terrace Marshall and Shi Smith is not shabby.

DJ Moore is a legit WR, with a better QB than darnold and Bridgewater the year before he's a pro bowler, he's had 3 consecutive seasons of 1100 yards +.

Robby Anderson was 4 yards short of 1100 yards the previous season

He had a rough year last year with Darnold.

So not sure why the Panthers would need to go out and get a WR to entice Watson especially suggesting that WR who would entice Watson would be Allen Robinson and his 400 yards and injury riddled season.🤔

If we don't get Watson, there are only two options left...roll with Hurts for 2022 with an eye on 2023, or trade Hurts, draft a guy this year and keep Gardner as a bridge.

I can’t see that happening at all.

How about Baker to Colts and Jimmy G to Philly?

That’s just dumb. I don’t care for Hurts at all but the Lions have Goff…

Goff sucks and the lions suck. But they are usually always going to be playing from behind and have to throw the ball. St. brown as a rookie had 90 receptions and 902 yards even with Goff missing some games and him being Goff. Here we do not throw as much. The lions had 593 passing attempts to the eagles 494. So basically 100 less passes where he’s going to be the third target behind smith and goedert. Meanwhile with the lions he’s only behind st. Brown.

Let me point out both of these situations are not ideal. Goff sucks and the eagles don’t throw the ball enough as a 3rd option. but if I was gonna be on a one year prove it really I’m likely going to a better team to begin with. But if I’m going to be the no. 2 option in a team that passed the ball 100 more times in another team,  always is gonna be playing from behind then 3rd option on a team that doesn’t pass as much.

This isn't a real hypothetical, for losing mind purposes only.

I can’t believe people still think we are getting Watson 😂😂

I remember debating whether we made a mistake in taking Goedert and passing on Williams.

Lol ok. It's not just the QB. This is a run first offense that already has Smith and Goedert who get all the targets. Then they are going to force some to Reagor.

Goff sucks too, but he will be the clear #2 option on a team that will be losing all the time and will have to throw a lot.

Yeah ok. I have no idea how the whole process played out but I can’t imagine Chark being like "yeah I would go to Philly but they have Hurts… I think I’ll go to Detroit where they have Goff!! Yeah I’ll really be able to showcase my talents so much better in Detroit!!”

I don't get why any eagle fan would want Jimmy G, the dude is average at best and always hurt.

Maybe lady fans would want him but I can't see any other reason to bring him to Philly.

Think he's gonna get 12-14M per...Reid got 10m per. It's a lot for a S. I'd be more in on Whitehead, Edmunds.

I think Marcus Williams is a better potential player.  I think that price is fine for a 25 year old player.  I would be fine with either Whitehead or Edmunds but I think the team needs to make a longer term signing.

They need oline in the worst way. Espn pass block win rate they ranked 29th. Espn run block win rate 26th. Pff has them as the 31st graded oline. They suck. They are worse than houston cause houston at least had tunsil along with the 4 horrific olineman. Not just bad they suck. If they lose Gilmore, burns, reddick and chinn in one offseason with the lack of picks that defense is taking a hit. Rhule also might not be a good nfl coach. He’s basically right back where he started with The Texans. Texans had good WRs, a banged up rb, bad oline and declining defense. Only difference is he might not have a dysfunctional FO.

Jimmy G is a better stop gap than Hurts.  I don't think it's worth it to spend assets to get him.

Still think he winds up on the colts.

Yup, Panthers got 99 problems but WR ain't one of them...

You don't  know who will establish themselves as a top prospect next season. Joe Burrow was a nobody before his breakout season at LSU.

Yup he's a better stop gap, and doesn't make sense to give up assets in a trade for a stop gap.

I get the point but you’re essentially splitting hairs. If Chark plays well he’ll get paid. The stats I don’t think play as big of a role as you guys think. Kirk just inked a huge deal and never even had 1,000 yards receiving.

Chark didn’t ink a long term deal because he can’t stay healthy.
