I get he may not want to come here, but there's no way in hell that Howie isn't doing everything he possibly can to at least get a meeting behind closed doors. Something just seems off with them not being mentioned at all. Because it's been beaten to death. He doesn't want to come here. Unless he has a sit down with us today and somehow we convince him to change his mind. Otherwise it's a moot point.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are just dipping their toes in to up the price for their two division rivals. Falcons have 16 million in cap room, they take on an additional 18 million in dead cap to cut / trade Ryan if they go that way, and then Watson's cap hit. Not gonna happen.

I'd think Watson cares more about getting out of Houston and being close to home(Carolina) then anything else. Also, the Saints are kind of a hot mess right now. New HC, Thomas is a head case, Kamara may get suspended and lord knows what theyre doing with Taysom Kamara suspended??? Forget suspension dudes probably going to prison.

In the NFC last year theWhat super amazing about that is seven out of the 16 teams in the NFC make the playoffs. In the NFC last year eight of the 16 finished below 500. Not that they just finished below .500 But seven of those teams were three games or more below 500. And if the Saints don’t get watson and the Niners go with Trey Lance those teams that finished over 500 could regress. If this were the AFC he would have a better argument.

I’m guessing if Watson has informed those teams that he is willing to waive his no trade clause to only them then the Texans are gonna have a much harder time getting what they want if neither one of them are willing to overpay.

They are meeting with him tomorrow so it's not just Texans driven. I think they are just doing it to stick it to division rivals.

Let’s see if it actually gets to tomorrow before a deal is made. I also don’t disagree with you. I think the Falcons probably doing it to increase what they have to give up and in turn helps the Texans. I think the Texans would love to put out there that the Eagles are involved because at that point I think it helps them in terms of what they can get from those teams

The long term the saints are still better. They prove in to be at least a consistent winner over the last decade. Say whatever you want they were top five in wins for the last decade. I much rather take my chances with the Saints than Carolina. Also the browns window is open for the next 3-4 years. It’s in the afc is the only downside with that team. But they have a very good oline, good RBs, cooper and a solid to above average defense. Carolina has bad oline, injury prone back, solid defense prior to the trade, and potentially a bad head coach. Sounds awfully similar to the Texans. I think he still goes to Carolina. However I think he’s gonna run into the same problems in Carolina as he did in Houston and it’s just gonna be Houston 2.0 That reported offer is BS. Has Watson's criteria for a new team been made clear? We've heard coach, OL, and defense. Well Carolina is bad at 2/3. The Saints have an unproven head coach. I think those reports are BS. What those teams do have in common is a lack of national pressure. I think that's way more apart of this than reporters are talking about. Carolina makes a lot of sense long term. Can't be emphasized enough that Watson is 26. Tepper is desperate to win and willing to spend the money to do it. It's also fair to wonder if the Saints are on a downswing. Lots of older veterans, not a lot of money to spend to replace them to make up for the Watson picks. Again, their head coach is majorly unproven.
March 15, 20223 yr Am I the only one that's disappointed that Dallas didn't re-sign Randy Gregory? Instead of giving a big contract to a 29 year old, now they get to draft his replacement in a DE-laden draft. Drafting good players is the one thing that those turds are good at.
