And yet he still takes up a spot. Moving on

Yes, those 90 man slots are so precious. I mean you need bodies to field 4 squad for practice and 3 for pre-season games.

Signing Ward isn't the problem, not finding someone to beat him out in camp is the problem.

Quiet start for us. No biggy.

We'll look back on this five years from now when we're only marginally better than we are currently.

Five years from now, 90% of the players signed this week will be out of the NFL.

McLain said in his article this morning that Philadelphia contacted Houston. It's behind a paywall, but if you know how to get around it, it's in there.

A lot more teams have contacted the Texans about Watson, including Seattle, Cleveland and Philadelphia, but barring a change of heart by the quarterback, he could end up with the Panthers or Saints. ESPN reported Monday that Watson is scheduled to meet with both teams.

Other interested teams could have been rejected by Watson, leaving them scrambling for other options.

Seattle, Philadelphia and Cleveland are also interested in Watson.

Last season, Watson used his no-trade clause to reject the Eagles’ overtures. They’re coming off a playoff season and have Jalen Hurts going into his third season, but they also have three first-round draft choices. Don’t count on Watson changing his mind about Philadelphia.

If they signed Reid or Williams, the latter whom they were in on, would have solved one of the safety spots long term.

They would. But where else would they have to compromise to do it?  Ironically, if Kelce had retired, it would have been easier - not that I wanted him to, don't get me wrong - but even with void years at some point the contract needs to fit.

So, backup QBs are cheap?

About half the run rate of backup QB's, right?

Tunsil won't be traded. Helps with Dillards trade value.

And Howie is the cause of the problem.

Wonder if there’s a world where the Bengals trade their late 2nd rounder for Dillard & one of our 5th rounders

Forget the 2nd. Give me Tee Higgins or Tyler Boyd. Lol

Not sure I agree with that, but I was more so referencing that we are in purgatory despite three first rounders. I don't have faith in Howie.

Dillard and a 5th for Chase

A good GM monitors everything, one never knows what might happen.

It's not just getting the player, it's another team getting the player and shaking loose a player you might be interested in.

Seems Howie does too.

Dillard isn't getting traded for anything of real value unless Howie holds someone at gunpoint.

A young LT who has proven he can play in the NFL is worth something, just don’t know what.

I'm not saying he can't get decent value, but teams aren't trading a 2nd and a player for Dillard and a late pick

Right, because decent LT tackles are easy to find. Dillard played enough last year for teams to get a read on him. He's got NFL starter talent.

Seems reasonable.

I just said a 2nd for Dillard + 5th (unless you’re referring to the other comments)

Hopefully this one would work out for a little longer than that one, eh?
