You lost me on those 3 being where they are. You have Tannehill in the top 10. I do get your last sentence though, and you're probably right there.

A ranking is 50% what you make of yourself, and 50% what your opposition is doing. Who below Tannehill have done better?

How would this years QBs stack up against last draft?

I'd still put Lawrence, Wilson, and Lance at the top.  Pickett is comparable to Mac Jones, both are better than Justin Fields.

The rest of this year's group -- Willis, Corral, Howell -- would be somewhere above Trask, who went at the end of the 2nd round at #64 last year.

OT rule. Best out of 5 free throws on a fisher price hoop

Howie and Nick would suggest this:

Ice-Games-2MinuteDrill-Football-Toss-Gam

But their current QB might not be able to reach the top target.   So they went with plan B.

Pitts is the only receiving option.  Why would he go to a team whose top 3 receivers are

Tajae Sharpe

Olamide Zaccheaus

Christian Blake

We need some Dawgs

All the targets are in the middle of the field. He'd go O for

Just have him turn to his left before the game starts... then they'd all be to his right.  ;)  #psychology

I assume we will see a flurry of cuts before the new league year starts this afternoon

Literally WTF.  This makes no sense from either side.

First, for the Falcons, I love Watson, I think he's an MVP caliber player, but he's not worth that much.

For Deshaun,  why in the world would he want to go to Atlanta after they've traded away all of their receivers, a ton of high draft picks, etc. to get him?  They literally are in cap hell (because of him), no chance of signing any skill players to help him, and no draft picks to use.

Wait.  Actually, maybe this should happen.  Screw Deshaun for saying no to Philly.  Good luck with the dirty birds Deshaun!

"Better" is a pretty vague term...better at, what exactly?

How far is New Hope to the Linc?

And prices will soon start to drop, as landing spots evaporate and teams with lots of money have spent it.

You should come close in FA a number of times if you do it right - set your reservation price BEFORE free agency begins (based on your evaluation of the cap and the player's value) and stick with that price even if it means losing out on a player. Without that discipline, you end up with an overpriced dream team.

I think Howie learned his lesson in 2018-19, you can't let emotions (we won, let's go back!) cloud your judgement - trust your evaluations and stick to your guns.

Some good players left, most of them older.

I imagine some will still demand top money not all will get it, wait it out until the market drops their price tags.

With the safety market so barren, I wonder if there any potential CB conversions out there.  I really don't want to watch another season of McLeod/Harris/Epps back there.

We have two "DBs” on the roster, Chachere and Vincent.  Both have played at CB and S.  Vincent is a bit small as a S, but so is Honey Badger.  They both have LSU in common too.  I suspect the Eagles may try Vincent at FS.  He has the wheels for it.  Chachere is S sized just raw.  Got some S reps last year.

I think Epps took a step forward last year.  They also have Wallace, who may be ready to take a step up or out. Mayden is a curiosity.  Got some reps at Alabama and is an athlete. Hasn’t been able to crack a roster but isn’t that old.

Howie loaded up on secondary cast offs last year and some that I really liked.  Scott is a good   CB, just nickel sized and injury prone.  I thought Gowan was the best UCF CB in the draft last year.  Real fluid hips and speed and size to play outside.  Vincent is a faster clone of Maddox, who was liked at FS.  McPhearson is a ball hawk and I suspect ready to take Nelson’s spot.

In this exercise: playing the position of Quarterback, giving your team the best opportunity to win, and ultimately comparing to your peers under similar playing fields.

Do I believe Ryan Tannehill could have orchestrated the SF 49ers offense to humiliate the Dallas Cowboys? Yes

Do I believe Ryan Tannehill could have gotten the Baltimore Ravens into the playoffs in 2022? Yes

Do I believe Ryan Tannehill could have won the AFC North with the Cincinnati Bengals and won multiple playoff games? No I do not.

Why? What does Pickett offer that makes him a top 20 pick, much less a top 4.

Wentz had elite QB upside, and in 2017 looked like he was on the way there. Then he blew out his knee and was never the same (shades of McNabb after 2005).

Howie could do what Belichick did last year.  Most of the NFL knew the Patriots had strong interest in Mac Jones, and Belichick let the board play out surmising that Jones would still be there at his #15 pick.  Mac Jones lasted until #15 and Belichick got his QB.  Really not sure what his backup plan was; rolling with Newton for another season seemed asinine.

It all depends what Sirianni is looking for in a franchise QB.  Maybe he sees Jalen Hurts as his long-term QB; I think all visible signals point otherwise.  We will start to get a better idea when the Pro Days and official visits take place.  If Howie and Nick feel that drafting a QB now is the way to go rather than waiting until the 2023 draft, I just don't see Howie sitting on his cell phone until pick #15 comes around.

If the Panthers don't get Watson, they'll be drafting Pickett at #6.  I believe SEA will likely draft Willis at #9.  There are other teams who could draft QB before #15 -- Giants, Falcons, Vikings, Commanders.  Perhaps Howie sits tight, punts on QB this draft, and take a DE, CB, and LB/WR with his 3 picks.  I wouldn't bet very much on it.

It will be an interesting first night at the draft.

Do you know Derek Carr got 3 votes for MVP in 2016?

He had 3937 yards, and 28-5 TD/INT ratio. He lost out to Matty Ryan who had an unreal year.

The last 4 years he's thrown over 4k yards, with last year hitting 4804.

I'm not saying Carr is the answer for us. But he's worlds better than Hurts. And he's certainly better than Tannehill, Jimmy G, and you could even argue Dak. You're really underselling Carr.

The NFL is so racist that multiple teams are lining up to trade 3 years worth of 1st round draft picks and multiple core players for an AA quarterback who still has 22 open civil lawsuits of sexual assault.

I'm just never ever ever going to give a flyign F*** about the cap. This s*** is ridiculous.

The cap still serves a purpose I think. If it weren't for the cap the 'rich teams' like Dallas would dominate the NFL. Small market teams like Green Bay and Cincinnati wouldn't have a chance.

The issue isn't black players not getting opportunities or earning power -- the issue is limited opportunities for head coaching, GM, executive and ownership openings.

So what in the world does Atlanta do with Matt Ryan? Eat $55 million and trade him? Wait until after 6/1 and trade him?

He'd only count $8.75mm this year to whoever trades for him with no guarantees left. SF might be interested.

The Colts should trade for him.  He would be an upgrade over Wentz and probably makes them much closer to contending.

Pray for him to retire?  They'd have to cut him.  Nobody wants that bloated salary.  He's untradeable.

And again, I think Deshaun is from Atlanta, otherwise I don't see any reason why he'd want this.  You're actually going to a situation that's even worse than Houston.

They've got the o-line he needs to stay upright at least.
