Watson is 26, so in between those guys and the 23-25 year olds. He's also the 3rd best in the NFC. How often do teams get a legit chance at a known top 10 QB at that age? Almost never. And you'll get hopefully 7-10 years of production out of him. Are you capable of articulating why you put him clear cut above Stafford and Dak? If the Eagles trade the barn for Watson he will be in the same situation as Texans where he has no defense to play with. How long until he is then requesting a trade out of here? This is all hypothetical of course because Watson does not want to come here in the first place.

I would’ve said dillard if they didn’t restructure tunsil. Cause they said earlier this offseason they’d deal him. I think someone like seumalo would actually interest them to build up that offensive line for Davis mills. im more curious to see if the eagles were actually involved if they had interest in tying cooks to the deal. They’ve been interested and tied too cooks since he was drafted.

It’s the top priority for any team who doesn’t have a championship caliber QB. Not when the rest of the team suffers for it. The way some of you think Watson is going to make this defenseless team a contender you'd think this guy would has won like Mahomes or Brady in this league.

The first round draft record over the past 12 years has been really spotty. By this track record, the Eagles will likely use these 3 picks to get one really good player, one OK player who doesn't get a second contract, and one bust.

March 16, 20223 yr 4 minutes ago, Sack that QB said: You have no future without a QB. Watson helps the future more than the picks do. To me the risk isn't the picks but the opportunity the picks have to improve the team if Watson does not work out for the team. If the team trades for him and he's involved in another scandal or demands a trade in a season or 2, it was a waste and they missed an opportunity to get a franchise QB. Despite his talent, he hasn't worked out with the Texans. He's not an Eagle and the team probably isn't getting him so I think a lot of this is speculative.

The plan would be to have this team in a better position 2-3 years down the road and beyond. This team wasn’t winning jack crack with the 2000 Ravens defense in the playoffs. Hurts is not winning a championship with this team or any team. He couldn’t even get it done in college. It’s just never going to happen. QB will be upgraded next year if it’s not this year.
March 16, 20223 yr Since these clowns in the front office refuse to draft quality LBs, I feel like a Myles Jack is the type of guy to go after. Maybe even Wagner depending on how much he has left and the cost. A question for everyone...If Watson goes to Atlanta how would you feel about Ryan for a few years until they can find the guy? At this point he isn't anything special, if he ever was, but at least he can properly throw the ball.

I don't think he's Mahomes but he's a lot closer to Mahomes than to Hurts. I think the Eagles have too many holes on defense to be a contender currently even with Watson. Exactly. Too many people have she is the only girl in the world syndrome with Watson. There are other people out there, and while it's not clear, it will be alright. Stick to what you feel is value for Watson, and if it crosses that line, focus on the defense, as you said. Howie could blow it, but he also has an opportunity to fix some major holes.

I kind of touched on this a couple months back. Just cause you have 3 first round picks doesn’t mean everything is fixed defensively. The likelihood the eagles nail every one of those picks (particularly because they are middle of the first round) isn’t as high as some want to believe. Add on your history has proven to not be all that great in that particular area since howie really took over in 2013 as reid got fired. Would like to use those picks to fix some holes but go ask the raiders how that went when they had a bunch of picks after the Mack trade and only josh jacobs really panned out to be what they thought with those firsts they used. It’s not a given everything gets fixed and you are vastly better just using those picks.
