No but I saw our goalkeeper famously save 2 in injury time to preserve victory against local rivals Blackburn. Was years ago as both clubs were in the Premier league . Our captain got sent off after the second for taunting the referee . (OK, for calling him a cheating **%^&## 😁). Looks like you are enjoying things over there 👍

October 27, 2024Oct 27 Records! During Madrid's 4-0 hammering by their greatest rivals at Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, the 25-year-old was caught offside on eight occasions - a career-high for the former Paris Saint-Germain star. According to ESPN, that matched the highest total for any player in a La Liga game since 2009, tying the unwanted record held by Elche's Jonathas against Athletic Bilbao in May 2015.

A guy called Martin Palermo once missed 3 penalties in a single game playing for Argentina in the Copa America in 1999 hit the crossbar with one, then blazed the next one over the bar, they still let him step up to take a third one and the keeper saved it. Argentina lost the game 3-0.

I'll never understand how someone with that much speed doesn't trust it more by being more conservative when trying to time his runs.

Too many players who have been there a long time and won it all. It’s why Sir Alex was so good because he made big decisions to get rid of players who he felt weren’t hungry enough. He built multiple teams over a long time.

No player in their right mind is coming in the xfer window. They are in a bad spot right now.
December 15, 2024Dec 15 And not even dressing Rashford, love it Our partners in the UK at Sky Sports spoke to Ruben Amorim before the derby and asked him why both Rashford and Garnacho had been dropped. "Selection,” Amorim said. "We try to evaluate everything: training, performance, game performance, engagement with the team-mates, pushing the team-mates up. Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players, so that is my selection. Simple. I don’t want to send a message. It’s simply an evaluation, and they know it. The players are really, really smart. Everybody understands my decision. I have to choose. It’s just simple selection. "The context is difficult. We have to win games and we have a difficult situation. I pay attention to everything, the way you eat, the way you put on your clothes to go the game. Everything. I make my evaluation and then I have to decide. I have a lot of player s to choose.”

They were due a down year is part of it, 4 League titles in a row had never been done before, 5 was always going to be a stretch. Big names have started to age, De Bruyne, Walker and Gundogan are all mid 30's and have dropped a level. Replacing some of these players like for like will be hugely expensive and in De Bruyne's case probably isn't possible at all. Rodri is done for the year and he is a genuinely elite holding midfielder, he ties their team together, guys like Kovacic, Gundogan and even Stones can do a job in midfield, but they aren't even in the same ball park in terms of quality as Rodri for that role. The last few years City have made a habit of buying players to stop rivals buying them rather than because they want them, Kalvin Phillips is an obvious example, bought for £50million supposedly to spell Rodri and played 16 league games in 2 years (which shows up Guardiola's complaint about how many games Rodri has played for the hooey it is), even guys like Grealish bought for £110 million to basically be first rotation guy at left wing. they've spent world class fees to add depth pieces and then haven't used them. Guardiola has spent longer at City than he's ever spent anywhere and to be frank building teams to win has never been his thing, at Barca, Bayern and City he came in to manage teams crammed with World class talent built to win now, at City in particular the club structures had been built specifically for him for 2 years before he arrived. It's not by any stretch guaranteed that he can get them back to the top.

December 28, 2024Dec 28 Someone's GOAT is speaking truth Cant wait to see the spin on this The Premier League it's the most difficult league in the world," Ronaldo, now playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, said at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday. "All the teams are good, all the teams fight, all the teams run, all the players are strong. Football is different right now. There's no easy games anymore.
April 9Apr 9 I'm not sure I've ever seen a better pair of free kicks in a single game than Rice's, in a UCL knockout match no less.

May 7May 7 Somehow an even more insane 2nd leg after that first match. Has to be the best 2 legs of the sport in history.
