I thought the way characters were portrayed was contrived and gratuitous, especially the southern accent. They all seemed like fake caricatures. Yet there is no reason the book should be removed from shelves. tbf it really isn't and that was mostly a made up sheetlib fantasy to push a false "book burning" narrative to make republicans look bad.

December 20, 20232 yr The police officer who searched for a book in a Great Barrington classroom also used a body camera. Du Bois Regional Middle School. They also say they cannot recall any instances of police going to a school to search for a book. Schools and libraries have internal procedures for book challenges. "That’s partly what is so concerning,” said Ruth A. Bourquin, senior and managing attorney for the ACLU of Massachusetts. "Police going into schools and searching for books is the sort of thing you hear about in communist China and Russia. What are we doing?” This is what America needs, cops in classrooms searching for banned books. As pathetic as those who support book banning.

December 20, 20232 yr Author Toaster is literally ****ing about middle schoolers not having access to this book: It really is insane how easy it is for liberals to be manipulated. They're so Fing stupid.

That libs are so stupid that they don't know what they're outraged about, or that the knew EXACTLY what this book was about and where it was being made available and were STILL outraged about it.

That's a good question for @Toastrel. My gut tells me, he simply doesn't have a clue what's in the book, he's just outraged because the TV/newspaper/media told him to be. But it is certainly possible he's mad that 6th graders don't have access to a sexually explicit book with images of gay oral sex. Care to clear it up, toaster?
December 20, 20232 yr The cool thing about libraries is if you have no interest in reading a book, you don't have to pick it off the shelf and read it. School libraries have their own curation process and can react to challenges without police intervention. The big hand of government choosing what you can or can't read sounds like something out of communist China or Russia. FWIW the book in question is recommended for teens due to mature content.

Me: Here's a page from the book. Why do you want 6th graders to have access to this in public schools? Idiot leftist cult member: Herrrderrr why are you searching for gay child porn. I mean, how low does your awareness have to be to argue like this? What level of senility is this?

The Biden campaign was a private entity — not the government — at the time of the request. Trump's White House, however, was the government, but Musk did not address reporting that said they also made and were granted requests.
