Or be less poor so you don't have to deny your kids.

I've been on the concierge level at the Yacht Club. Still not worth the money IMO, but they have great cookies. Rent a condo on the Gulf, rent watercraft, take them fishing, and relax by the pool.

I stopped going to Disney years ago. Not the same as it was in the 90s and not worth the prices. Take your kids to a Gulf Coast resort and relax.

We go often, almost every year up until a year before the pandemic. Prices are up about 20-30% since our last trip, so if you thought they were bad whenever you stopped going, you're in for a real treat now.

But kids are kids man, they wanna have fun, see cool ish, and go on rides, and my job as a dad is to make that happen. It's my purpose, fam.

For sure. That's awesome you have that viewpoint and I'm sure they are memories they will always remember.

And yeah, things are nuts now. Not just with the prices but with how crowded things are. There is a place called Beaches & Cream that used to have a 30-60 min wait depending on the night, and now you have to book it days or weeks out. It's one thing to spend money, but another to always be rushing to reservations or standing in line.

I'm kinda excited to go to Disney with the little guy. I've heard it's incredible nowadays. I'm sure I'll be over it by day 2 but hey.

Never been to Disneyland but we're going this summer.  Anybody been?  I'm assuming it's only the Magic Kingdom version of Disneyworld.

Exactly why I fully encourage procus and anyone else that is upset with Disney's "agenda" to boycott any and all things Disney, especially the parks. Not only do I not have to stand next to them in line and hear them talk about JFK Jr making an appearance at Dealy Plaza, but our waits for food, rides, transportation, etc will be that much shorter. It's a win-win all around.

Once again, there is a solution...be less poor so you can skip the line.

If you’re not used to going to theme parks all the time (like having an annual pass), break your day up into thirds, and spend one third of that not being at the park. Go to the pool. Take a nap. Whatever. Whether you decide to sleep in, maybe take an afternoon siesta, or call it a day early. People try to do as much as they can and they get burnt out real quick.

Also if you have already seen the fireworks show at that park, use the fireworks show time to go on rides. Things go from 90 minute waits down to nothing during the shows.

Also to save on money eat out of the parks. There’s a five guys right outside of the park that I go to whenever I’m there. There’s also a bunch of other restaurants around, too.

Yes, and I seen to be in the minority, but I actually liked it better than MK. It's smaller and older, so less stuff to do, but it has that OG Disney feel that makes MK feel more industrialized and formulaic almost. Not as many rides, but it was less crowded, the characters walked around the park and took time to talk to the kids, they had more interactive shows, etc.

Now that my kids are getting a bit older, the benefits of 4 parks will probably outweigh the charm of DL, but I do want to go back to DL on our next Cali trip so my youngest can experience it.

Went back in 2016 with my Goddaughters. Back then they had 2 parks -- the main one and California Adventure. Went on a weekday in August...not crowded, but damn the heat. My niece and nephew have been more recently since they opened up the Star Wars and Avengers things. They like it better than FL because it isn't as crowded/massive.

If you have a solid Under Armor polo shirt lifestyle, the Genie+ is $15 per person per day.

If you’re wearing a Brooks Brothers polo because that’s what the hotel left on the Peloton that some poor kid from maintenance had to push into your room, you can buy a VIP tour of the parks and skip the lines.

I didn't know they had a Star Wars thing, but I like that.  Is it just a single ride or is there a wing of the park that's all Star Wars?

Been to Universal Studios Hollywood a couple times in the last year (once with my wife's sisters kids, once with my brother's kid). You can get the unlimited use line jumper for like ~$300, or the VIP tour for the same amount. The VIP package forces you to take the movie lot tour and take the rides in order. The unlimited pass (CA resident only) is the way to go -- those kids hit that Harry Potter ride like 10 times.

I don’t know about you guys but I always knew that once the gay community was excepted in mainstream society (which I’m fine with of course) that for many of not most gays would take it a step further.  Which they have.

It means for many gays being equal and accepted isn’t the end game.

They are trying to convert people. Children included.

imo

Probably the dumbest things you've said on these boards, and that includes your greatest hits like "COVID is just the flu" and "Biden stole my truck...twice!"

It means a gay guy broke into his uninsured truck and stole his tools. Twice

Don't forget my personal favorite: "We shouldn't rush to judgement on the coach who named an audible after Auschwitz. It might've been a way to teach the kids about the Holocaust for all we know."

"I always knew once we started accepting The Gays as human beings instead of emotionally torturing them to the brink of suicide like the good Lord intended (which I'm fine with of course) that they'd start trying to recruit your baby into their sinister satanic sodomy cabal"

Ok but When did I say covid is just the flu?  I didn’t say that. My x works in the respiratory ward at a hospital and has been working w/ covid patients from the start.

and I didn’t say Biden stole two of my work trucks.  Not even close.  I was simply implying that liberal policies on criminals in CA play part in the rise in theft and crime in general.

but i digress.

How about we all just agree that any conversation(s) about sexuality and sexual preference(s) or gender confusion between student and teacher are inappropriate.  Can we do that?

You absolutely did in the beginning of COVID. I very specifically remember mocking you using r0 data for the original COVID strain relative to the flu and several other viruses after you shared some BS meme comparing them. Don't try to side step it now and hide behind your ex's job.

And no we won't agree on that. Nor is that remotely the same as suggesting gay people are trying to "convert" children. Like that's remotely how being gay works.

"well hell I thought I liked **** but then my English teacher pointed out the gay subtext in Walt Whitman's work and I guess I love dick now".
