While Sirianni wouldn't comment on "who stood out" after one practice during which players wore helmets, shells, and shorts with no contact, he did talk about quarterback Carson Strong, whom the team signed following the 2022 NFL Draft. Strong had a brilliant career at the University of Nevada, where he tossed 74 touchdowns and just 19 interceptions. At 6-foot-3 and 226 pounds, Strong showed up on the field. "I thought he did a good job today. It's a lot. He's reading plays differently and running different plays, to have to go back there and manage everything," Sirianni said. "One thing I'm impressed by is when a guy can come out and just call a play because there are a lot of guys that don't call plays, right, and they are looking to the sideline. We call plays in the huddle. He was pretty smooth at that. That means he studied hard. He got ready for this day today. He was really sharp, and he knew what to do and he knew where to go with the football. He has a big arm, and you definitely can see that. Those are tools to work with. His size and arm strength is noticeable when he's out there." It's happening!!!!!!

May 7, 20224 yr Quote Strong himself has an interesting way of looking at taking shots down the field when he is playing, saying it is necessary to do so to have success. "I kind of compare playing quarterback to boxing,” Strong said. "You’ve got to jab them up. You’ve got to hit some body shots. You can’t just come in there swinging big hooks. You’ve got to take what they give you. You’ve got to take the check downs. But when the defense puts their hands down, you’ve got to be ready to knock them out. I want to take the short game, quick game, check down. If the defense puts their hands down, then I’m going to go for it all.” https://www.nj.com/eagles/2022/05/is-eagles-udfa-qb-carson-strong-the-future-backup-for-jalen-hurts.html The kid gets it already. If the last Carson had this mindset he may still be here.

Hurts is so much better as a runner than Carr is, that what Hurts brings to the table exceeds what Carr brings to the table, when it comes to getting wins. Running QBs, top runners, running often, win. My QB room would be Jalen Hurts, Tyree Jackson, Greg Ward and Britain Covey. Troll level unlocked.

Carr is hardly a top tier QB, I don’t see how that comparison is that far fetched.

The question is more about whether you'd want to pay Carr what he got

I don't think anyone knows how strong will play in the NFL....but we do know how Hurts does and how Carr does... Carr>Hurts at this point. Hurts at his price for a team trying to build up is probably more beneficial at this point, but doesn't make him a good option at all
May 7, 20224 yr Apologies if this has been asked, but, was/has a Punter been brought in? I would prefer last year's Punter to not be on the Team for this season.

I don't think so. It is bizarre how they handled the punt situation last year. Usually teams have 2 punters in camp unless they have a pro bowl punter that they know is solid. Siposs was the only punter in camp last year and he had virtually no experience. It just seems like the FO didn't want to bother with it or their analytics guys don't feel that punter is that critical. Also, Siposs was really bad in the last quarter of the season and they still didn't bring in competition at that point.

I've heard some rationalize it like not worth the money and expecting Burks to be a swap but mostly pissed he's gone.

He had a bad game in the finale against the Cowboys, and had a below average game in the playoffs against the Bucs. I don't think it's fair to say he was bad the entire last quarter of the season.

He had one good week against the Giants in that stretch, but he was terrible in the other games including the playoffs. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SipoAr01/gamelog/2021/

But then that decision started to hurt us. Looks like they still believe in him, though?
