As of now NFL.coms UDFA tracker has us signing Strong and Elliss and that's it??

We don't need Jordan Howard anymore. We got Jerry Howard. LOL.

Big back

I like the kid Brooks from OK. He has good vision and takes what's there and breaks arm tackles. He's kinda slow and doesn't do anything great but seems like he has potential to be a chain mover

I should add though that I'm not sure how someone like that shows in the current format of camp without much contact and only a few preseason games

The Eagles need to have at least one big - 230+ ball carrier at all times, not on the field necessarily, but on the roster.  One of the reasons why the Eagles lost in the playoffs was that Howard was hurt and had no carries,  on top of the fact that Hurts ankle was not 100%.

I would personally like to see Cam Jurgens carry the ball.  There's video of him running well in high school.  He was the 4th best Tight End coming out of high school according to ESPN.  He was a "hybrid" TE.   And there is no obvious place for him to play on the offensive line this year.

I would like there to be a player that can be pointed to, as "big back" who you would go to in short yardage situations,  when you're trying to run out the clock at the end of the game, etc.

I'd enjoy Tyree Jackson running the ball, he's 250.  Much big runs from the QB spot in college.

LB Dean had a lot of rushing TDs in HS, and I expect that his combine numbers would have been something like 5'11 230 and 4.40,  very similar to a big back like Saquon Barkley.

DT Davis had a rushing TD for Georgia last year.

Honestly, I've seen a lot of great play from Carr.

same number of playoff appearances and playoff wins as Hurts,  but in 8 years, not 1 year.

Maybe we have a legit returner now?

Was a high school running QB who ran for a lot of yards.  returned kicks and punts, caught passes, and ran in college

He looks incredible - but extremely small. The speed he changes direction is so impressive,  that feint move he does gonna be breaking ankles

3x pro bowler, 6 near to surpassing 4000 yard seasons, over 2/1 TD ratio for career, 65% completion (could give Jalen hope cause was only 61% year 2), a pretty good TD/int ratio with the ever bad drafting Raiders team. I'd say the kid has been the only thing between them and the jaguars/lions for awhile now

A bit weird that they didn't officially announce this as rookie camp has started

I've been waiting for the team to sign a bruiser.  Let's hope he pans out.

Check out the Eagles' new project at TE - a 6'9" forward from the Penn State basketball team:

Are you saying that Hurts is every bit as good a QB as Carr?

Carr has been to the playoffs twice

I think the point was that Carr was injured and unable to play the first time he led the Raiders to the playoffs. He's only actually played in one playoff game.

he also loses a lot of fumbles.   You sound like a Raider fan making excuses.

The big hint should have been that the Raiders got Khalil Mack and Carr in the same draft and Carr started with a 0-10 record. The Raiders started the year before 3-3 with Terrelle Pryor.  Carr had pretty good stats when he went 0-10.  Carr learned how to lose while putting up decent passing stats.   He's been losing ever since.   Carr sucks, Raiders lose, fire the HC,  Carr sucks, Raiders lose,  fire the next HC.  Carr has in 8 years been to the playoffs as often with the same number of wins, as Hurts.   Carr is making $40 Million a year.

Passing stats do not = wins.   When you lose that many fumbles yet don't run well at all,  the passing stats don't get it done.

You don't need great passing stats to win when you lead NFL QBs in rushing yards, like Hurts.

Hurts passing stats suffer because Hurts himself runs for many TDs.   You run Hurts stats through the passer rating calculator,  and you give Hurts a TD for every TD run Hurts himself made,  his stats would look better.

Carr did not make a playoff appearance that year, 2016.

Hurts is a better QB than Carr.

Hurts is so much better as a runner than Carr is,  that what Hurts brings to the table exceeds what Carr brings to the table,  when it comes to getting wins.

Running QBs,  top runners,  running often, win.

My QB room would be Jalen Hurts, Tyree Jackson, Greg Ward and Britain Covey.

I feel embarrassed for you reading this

Siriani already praising Carson Strong day 1.

1. While Sirianni wouldn't comment on "who stood out" after one practice during which players wore helmets, shells, and shorts with no contact, he did talk about quarterback Carson Strong, whom the team signed following the 2022 NFL Draft. Strong had a brilliant career at the University of Nevada, where he tossed 74 touchdowns and just 19 interceptions. At 6-foot-3 and 226 pounds, Strong showed up on the field.

"I thought he did a good job today. It's a lot. He's reading plays differently and running different plays, to have to go back there and manage everything," Sirianni said. "One thing I'm impressed by is when a guy can come out and just call a play because there are a lot of guys that don't call plays, right, and they are looking to the sideline. We call plays in the huddle. He was pretty smooth at that. That means he studied hard. He got ready for this day today. He was really sharp, and he knew what to do and he knew where to go with the football. He has a big arm, and you definitely can see that. Those are tools to work with. His size and arm strength is noticeable when he's out there."

And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.

Hurts passing stats suffered because he runs???? That wouldn't change his efficiency and he is one of the worst deep ball QBs in the league and his third down conversions in the air aren't great. He runs to remain on the field because as a pure passer he is probably in the late 20s ranking. At this rate he will either get to 64% and 25tds or he will find the bench through injury or performance by week 10. Howie loves bragging about his finds. Imagine him finding the next QB as Undrafted

Also going back to Carr....pretty sure the same argument could be made about the super bowl champ this year. Football is a much deeper sport than wins and losses. For a team, yes, wins and losses are the end all, be all...but for individual players, the stats tell the story in the long term. Carr has 24 fourth quarter comebacks meaning he knows how to lead a team when pressure is on. With the eagles last year, once you had a double digit lead....it was over. Want to know why? Because the QB couldn't QB

Where is that Jalen Hurts thread? Disappeared due to lack of interest?

Why are we arguing about Hurts in the UDFA prospect thread?

Because the Hurts Huggers need attention.

Running backs run, QBs throw the football.

Look at the SB winning QBs, non are runners. Brady, Stafford, Mahomes(yes can run but is a passing QB), Foles.

The last running QB who won a SB was Wilson in 2013 and he ran 3 times for less then 30 yards in the SB. Before that was Steve Young in 1994

You sir as usual have zero football iq.
