Financially it doesn’t even make sense unless he’s becoming a locker room distraction. They have to pay for him whether he’s here or not, so might as well have him as your 4/5th, hope you don’t need to use him extensively and hope he can at least give you somewhat average play if you do need him.
August 27, 20223 yr What happened to @jsb235 ?? Furiously pounding the 100% accurate PFR numbers I used to prove him wrong into a calculator trying to find a glimmer of hope that he has not made a complete fool of himself in front of the entire blog.

Penn State occasionally has some offense depending on the week. And thats about it. Big 10 is pretty boring. But the defense is solid across the board and Im excited to see some offensive teams up against strong defensive teams. Needed that variety to make the conference interesting. And I think its going to force other teams to bring in better offensive minds and improve the product across the board as well.

His value probably doesn’t depreciate between now and the trade deadline and may actually increase. That allows the Eagles to hold him as a backup until a point where they have an idea how their own season is going. Good point.

All this yelling and screaming about how bad Hurts was last year (15-20th among starting QBs is actually pretty good for a first year starter at QB) means nothing. Either he improves or he doesn't. At some point everything has been said ad nausem, and the only thing that matters is what he actually does once the games count. And what matters is production, whether it's from the pocket, scrambles, roll outs, designed runs and taking off when he sees huge swathes of empty real estate.
