You messed up your facts.  You left out the Minshew game with 149/33 = 4.52

So predictable, I took this screenshot about 10 minutes ago waiting for you.

I said the top 3 offensive line makes the running game, not the QB.

Here is the starters from the game you referenced.  See any starters, or 4 missing.

I don't think you understood my post.  Explain what I was saying when I said "Handing off the ball"

Actually, don't bother.  Your time would be better spent looking for the fact that you attributed to justrelax "Give me an example of a conflicting viewpoint backed up by data that you feel that justrelax has ignored. ” "

What happened last year is meaningless, what he does this year is what matters - either he improves or he doesn't.

Beating a dead horse won't make it get up and walk.

Wow, talk about walking it back and moving the goal post.  Stop embarrassing yourself, the whole blog is seeing it.

So don’t come to the blog then.  We are going to discuss the team, especially the QB with the data we have.

He was 22nd in QB rating.

He was 19th in QBR.

He was 22nd as a first year starter. But the question above was find a stat where he was above average and I found 12.

He needs to improve his completion % and his TD % and he will fly up the QB rating list.

Josh Allen did this. Its normal for young QBs to get better as they play more.

FYI QBR is an ESPN created secret feelings stat. Its the Charlie Batch stat. Its literally invalid. You should stop looking at it.

1) No, that is the latest real data that we have.

2) Really?  I would have never guessed.

3) Neither will hopes and prayers.

I was told by Hurts defenders in this very blog that QBR is a better measure of Hurts than QB rating is.

Not in a million yrs, that’s good though, real good

Let’s declare @downundermike the winner of the stat fight. He who shouts longest wins.

Really would hurt the eyes for Illinois in these uniforms to play Boise State in their uniforms on that awful colored field at Boise State.  Of course, if that happened it would look like a football flying around the field by itself because the players would be camouflaged.

Eagles RB’s had 391 carries for 1880 yards last year.  1880/391 = 4.808

Eagles  RB’s had 36 carries for 174 yards vs the Jets.  174/36 = 4.83

Why are you only including the Jets game for Minshew? He played the meaningless finale against the Turds. Surely you didn’t attribute those stats to Hurts.

I don't care. Its still a fake stat.

You still don’t understand.

@downundermike I have very little personal investment in Hurts at this point. If he's bad and Minshew Mania strikes again I will be fine.

I root for the starting QB but I'm not pretending he just has to show up this year and he will be awesome.

I see some level of improvement coming based on 3 things.

  • The schedule is a joke
  • The team around him is much better.
  • He will get more experience.

I can't say if he will be 2% better, or 7% better or 25% better.

QBR is like PFF rankings except PFF does not pretend their rankings can be substituted for QB Rating.

Its fine that ESPN does QBR  but you have to take it with a mountain of salt.

Won’t make it throw a 15 yard pass to the second read on third and long either.

Did anyone hear if Strong will play a couple quarters tonight?

Brumfield  can spin it

There’s nothing out there at all about whose playing

yeah. Chase Brown is good.

I suspect Dillard would only be traded at this time for a premium.  His value probably doesn’t depreciate between now and the trade deadline and may actually increase.  That allows the Eagles to hold him as a backup until a point where they have an idea how their own season is going.

Exactly right.

Another one that doesn’t get it.

It is about the top 3 STARTING offensive line, not about the QB.  Minshew v Jets proves the running game goes, not because of Hurts, but because of the top 3 STARTING offensive line.

I really wonder about a bunch of folks reading comprehension.
