Tim Tebow had alot ift those same attributes you mentioned and still it wasnt enough to make up for his inability to play QB.

I like Hurts, he seems like a solid guy, good teammate, works hard, wants to be better, and having said that his lack of arm talent and ability to process quickly and play QB from the pocket and deliver throws accurately and on time don't give me much encouragement that he can be much better than he was last year.

Tebow regressed year to year.  Hurts hasn't done that.  Since he first started playing as a freshman he has continued to improve year to year.  He has yet to regress he has so far only progressed year to year.  Maybe not to the instantaneous rate that you so desire but he has progressed nonetheless.

You’re a liar.   I never brought up the fact that you  touted the practices as important or more important than the preseason games.  You just now reminded me of that.  So you just outed yourself.  You bragged that Hurts looked good, according to sources since it was a closed practice, against the 9th ranked defense.  Which was during the preseason.  Not ranking defenses for the preseason.  JFC you’re dumb.  It’s not a joke.  I don’t need to make a joke.  I’m good enough at that on my own.  This time, you provided the material.  I just reminded people, since you are going after another poster for "parroting”.  You were bragging about ish you had no self knowledge of but only because of "reports”.  That’s the epitome of parroting.

Its sad that there are fans out there like you.  It’s far from a joke.  It’s sad.

Ok, so I’ll ask again. What specifically is out there to prove he’s the hardest worker out there and he works so much harder than the majority of NFL players that it’s somehow an advantage in his trajectory? Did Nate Sudfeld not put in the work, which is why he didn’t succeed? Tim Tebow had a tremendous work ethic, why didn’t he pan out?

I don't recall teammates praising Sudfeld (except for Wentz). So I feel like there's less evidence to support such a claim. Tebow was ultra competitive and worked hard. For some reason, he never showed signs of improving as a QB. I forget which player-turned-analyst once said about Tebow that his weight training could be adversely affecting his ability to improve his passing. If you look at some of the big armed QBs in NFL history (Marino, Elway, Cunningham, Vick, Etc...), you don't find a lot of body builders with chiseled arms. Some scouts worry that Metcalf's low body fat and muscular build will prevent him from improving much in certain pass routes and limit him to what he's been. I don't know if it's true, but Jalen also hits the weights hard and if that does adversely affect passing (again IDK), this could limit his ability to get better. Guys like Jamarcus Russell had all the talent in the world and every reason to work hard to have a career, but decided not to put in the effort. Heck, even Vick could have been twice the QB had he began his career with the ethic he had after prison. Some players do work harder than others. If teammates and coaches are impressed, that must be something. Jerry Rice and Walter Payton are both in the HOF because of their work ethics that teammates took note of. William Perry, on the other hand, was a brick layer the last I heard.

Vick could do all of that because he was fast and had a rocket of an arm. Hurts does not have that kind of arm and he wont

Yeah he doesn't.  He doesn't have that elite level of talent and ceiling.  Tom Brady didn't.  He became as great as he did because he had a burning desire I've only seen equaled by Michael Jordan.  I'm not at all saying Jalen Hurts has that same burning desire because that'd be crazy talk.  But he does have a high level burning desire and more than enough of a level of talent to make something pretty good out of it.

Here you go @Utebird the above is a lie.

Hurts regressed in completion % from freshman to sophomore season.

Then regressed from Junior to Senior season while going to an easier conference.

I’d just like to say i think the sixers are Fed. Stuck in a purgatory and embiid is gonna ask to be traded in a year or two when he realize the sixers pissed away assets and can’t get themselves out of the hole they are currently in.

also god help us all if we have to see the Celtics win an nba title and the Mets win a WS this year.

Yeah.  But look at that Junior season.  He was great as a back up.   Which is what he is.

Pretty good senior season. And his Y/A, the most important passing stat, went up each season.

Great relevant input again sport.  Glad your obsession with me is alive and well.

One of my former coworkers had a girlfriend that was always quitting her job and getting a new one after a couple weeks. Every time she quit, she said it was because all her coworkers were mean or didn't like her. Every time she started a new job, after the first day,  everybody was nice and the new job was great. Fast forward to the second week, she was quitting for the same reason as before. Maybe the reason she didn't get along with most people wasn't because most people had a problem with her. Maybe she was the one that didn't get along with most people.

It’s fine. We’ll trade for Lonzo Ball next year

I hope

The thing that just irritates me the most with the Mets being good again, The Phillies in 10 years haven’t been able to get one team that has looked as good as this Mets team so far. The Mets got to a World Series and made the playoffs. Then everything went to Crap for most of the last 5 years and now good again. The Phillies are now in year 10 and look like they are barely mediocre.

Is mustard strictly a low-brow condiment for the bottom of the nutritional chain?  When I was a kid it was good on a bologna sandwich, it works really well on a hot dog — but I can’t think of a use for it on much else.  I don’t even think mustard works on a hamburger. Certainly not on a steak or prime rib.

It seems to be the vegetable equivalent of jam.

The thing that drives me crazy about that ball, Tatum and fultz draft is the fact we moved up and gave that kings pick up. I thought at the time Tatum, fultz and ball in that order were the best players. However it was pretty obvious and known that the Lakers were all in on taking the local kid Lonzo ball. So you could’ve wound up with Tatum or Fultz at 3 if you just sat there. I would’ve been happy either one of them. And I liked fultz but I also like Tatum cause he was an athletic wing which was something the sixers could’ve used and used Covington in a deal at that point. I thought they were dumb for not just sitting at 3 and taking the best player that came to them and still having a future draft pick.

less about fultz mentally just falling apart. More if I’d have been happy with any of those 3 so the move up i was less excited about. Especially when it then came out that not all the scouts really loved fultz and thought he was t a winning player.

Mets will come back down to earth a little.  What pisses me off that it’s been basically every other team in the NL East the last few seasons, except for the Phillies and Marlins.  The other 3 take turns leading the division.

Yeah it’s been brutal to see the nats and Braves win a World Series on top of that. I actually had this conversation with my dad the other day. In 38 years that I have watched Phillies baseball they’ve made the playoffs 6 times. And five of them came on one run. That’s 16% of the seasons they’ve had they made the postseason. That is bad when you go look that the Rockies and Diamondbacks who were expansion teams and have made it as much in less amount of time. Add on the marlins have 2 WS titles since 93. The Phillies have 2 since 1883.

Then when you go to the sixers they’ve only been to the Eastern conference finals once in my lifetime. It has been 21 years since that. That’s why I’m so negative with those two teams. I don’t trust them whatsoever to do the right thing or make the right decisions. Because outside of few seasons they tend to make repeatedly bad decisions. Like I totally see embiid be going down the same road that Charles Barkley went down with the sixers. This is like history repeating itself

The debut album for The Smile finally dropped.  It's so good.  Up there with any of the actual Radiohead albums. Made by probably at this point the two most influential members of Radiohead and a really talented jazz drummer that I wasn't aware of before.  Opening track sounds like it could have came off of Kid A.

Howie just has put together two great offseason, **** all you want, but facts are facts.

He got three solid prospects, a future 1st and 2nd, a top 24 year old WR, and replaced those last round picks with a huge UDFA haul. Can't play it much better than that!

But some people will never be happy if they're denied their ITYS.

He may have had a few good picks this year but in reality, the jury is out on all three until we see them play in the NFL.  They got a great pass rushing SAM with questionable coverage skills and a rental at WIL, that may be a sign that Taylor and Stevens were flops.  Vincent (six round choice) and Gowan (arguably a six round value with the fifth they got for Ertz) are projects I am high on but not proven.  He blew the trade from the fifth round.  Brown he may have overpaid for because he tends to get nicked up with his style of play. But if he had drafted Jefferson instead of Reagor, would be an unnecessary cost.   I am not complaining or doubting but looking at this year a bit more pragmatically.

I know but still it’s baffling. I wouldn’t mind as much had the Cowboys actually won something other than a division title since the mid nineties but the giants have two Super Bowls and the eagles have one in that time.

Cowboy fans are cockroaches. They pop up everywhere you go and/or live and it’s usually bc of insecurity stemming from childhood.  99% of Cowboys fans have never been to Texas.

My wife and I just took a 10 day trip to Ireland with our then 7 month old daughter in February.  We flew into Shannon, I rented a giant van, and we did Galway, Blarney, Kilkenny, and finished up in Dublin.  One of the most incredible experiences of my life.  My only beef was literally the beef. Wtf do you feed your cows?
