Since safety is one of the spotlight positions left unaddressed, I'd like to see the Eagles get back into the practice of trialing undervalued CBs at safety.  At this point, it's all about pass defense.  And with our investment in the middle of this defense, if our safeties are not adequate in taking down RBs, then our safeties are the least of the problem.

Question for the blog: if there is a DT prospect on the board with both strength and rare athleticism/burst...and the Eagles are on the clock...will they EVER, NOT take that prospect?

If there is a DE with strength and rare athleticism they might pass on the DT.

I think they would pass for a better prospect at OT, QB and depending on need DE and CB.

I would suggest looking at DE through a different lens.  Right now they are being coached by Washburn along with the SAM linebackers.

So add Reddick and the Johnsons into the mix.  From a scheme perspective they will likely all be edge players in some sort of odd man alignment.

Williams and Cox both played some DE last season.

You're forgetting Reddick and the Johnson's as they will be EDGE rushers. Then you have a nice 4-man rotation inside with Cox, Hargrave, Davis and Milton. But yes, I do expect to see Milton play some DE in 3-4 alignments this year as well.
