LOL. Im black and have basically been the biggest Strong supporter on the board. Has nothing to do with his skin color. Strong on one leg is simply a more gifted passer than Hurts and anyone that isnt wearing Hurts colored goggles can see that. Im not gonna apologize for wanting a tall QB when the average height of our Oline is 6'5. I just hope the kids knee holds up. If he shows out in camp/preseason, i dont believe we'll give Hurts all 17 games if he's still lackluster as a passer.

Who was the last top 5 NFL offense with a scrub playing QB, though?  If your answer is either Goff or Wentz, then those teams gave out mega contract extensions that are mainly viewed as a mistake in 20/20 hindsight.

While I agree that statistical measures aren't that impactful in terms of evaluating Hurts, the team should not look to extend him unless he looks like a proficient passer. Sure being a top 5 offense helps make the case to keep him but I am not sure that's sufficient to justify paying him top 5 money.   The only way they should really consider it is if the team gets to or wins the Super Bowl.  I think absent that kind of performance the question will be whether he is good enough to win.  He had flashes of being, at times, a decent QB.  He didn't ever seem to play consistently enough for the floor as a passer not to look very low.  I am not sure I can envision a scenario where he looks like an elite passing QB this year.  They have him for another year on his rookie deal.  Why extend him absent some significant and consistent jump in performance.
