We don’t need to compare Hurts to anyone. All that matters is how he works in the Eagles offense. Based off of last season, not great.

But there isn't much to talk about around the Eagles right now.

Josh Allen is a good comparison for how raw they were as passers while being able to get by on their atheltic abiloty as rookies but have developed overtime.

Josh Allen was raw and had talent, Jalen Hurts was/is raw and has no talent.  The comparison halfway holds up.

Another reason no.  Hurts will never, ever, ever be able to do this.

What are talking about... Hurts just has to get 1% better every day for the next 20 years, he could get a cannon like that.

I know you are joking, but you can not make your arm do that.  You either have it or you don't.

I can't, you can't, but Hurts can.  He has that level of desire.  Completely unmatched work ethic in the history of football.  Rent is due everyday.

Shocker!

Be willing to bet my life savings RTK is a Manlet with a Hurts fathead in his room.

By the way, nice to meet you @NCiggles

Jimmy Kempski compared Jordan Davis, Cam Jurgens, and Nakobe Dean to Tennessee Albert Haynesworth, Nick Mangold, and Zach Thomas, respectively. What a haul that would be.

Sure.  But, why not compare them to Bruce Walker, Danny Watkins and Matt McCoy?

Probably because they have very little in common with those players

Exactly... they don't have that much in common with those others mentioned either.  But, there's the narrative of overhyping folks in the lean news days leading up to summer.  Let's have the rookies suit up and play before anointing them.

TBH when I hear interviews with Eagles players they say the requisite things about him as a teammate and the starting QB, but I don't hear anything in the interviews that leads me to believe Hurts is "loved" in the locker room -- as the narrative that's being pushed.

Jordan Davis seems like a good dude. I really hope he lives up to his potential here. So hyped to see him play.

Dude, he is the most likable guy in the history of the league.

The fact that everyone basically says the same phrases word for word convinces me they had either a memo or coaching about what to say to the media.

I want to hear more about Strong in camp. I realize he's not working with the 1s but still

They also just talk about being a leader and whatnot

Having racial bias, potentially in player comparisons, isn't the same as racism. I think Dak and Tyrod Taylor are similar to Hurts.  Dak is less so but he does have limited arm strength and issues in his throwing motion.  Racism, to the extent journalists can be racist, would be espousing thoughts that Hurts be a starting QB or is otherwise limited because of his race.  Of course your criticism begs the question.

Who do you think are better comparisons for Hurts in terms of players currently in the League?

Dak is far better

tyrod taylor is a strong comp for hurts

Of course they plan the messaging

duh

Top throws by air yards since 2018, Mayfield #1 and make multiple appearances.  No comparison to Hurts.

As much as Hurts is limited, I can't see wanting Mayfield over him. Mayfield is Butt Fumble with a better arm

Rod Serling would say the similarity is eerie
