I remember when the story first broke that he was banned from life for doing this and one of the funnier comments I read on reddit was how he must have just been draining shots to be shooting on the court that long before he got caught.  Watching this video now and he was actually draining the shots, that's funny.

yeah. I have watched a lot of his youtube videos over the years. He has gone to the playground dressed as different characters, usually a nerd, and balled out. Hes pretty good.

I think it’s funny how cool the security guard was but he still got banned

I'm betting security got chewed out pretty good for letting that happen.  The execs don't like being made to look like fools.  And it was an exec that gave him the ban paperwork, that decision came from the top.  The rank and file don't care because it was all in good fun.

Cole Turner is a redzone nightmare. Wanted him in the draft bad. Strong also looks like a NFL QB already

It would be interesting to see how Strong fares against an NFL defense. Will we get that chance this year? I'm doubtful.

Eagles usually carry 3 QBs on the roster with the 3rd being inactive on game days. I think Strong is going to get that treatment, and I'd love for them to be able to keep him off pup so the coaches can work on his movement in the pocket. With the lack of playing time Sirianni gives the starters in pre-season, we may see a good amount of Strong early.

I think he will end up on the field in the next couple of years. As a starter or back up, I'm not sure , but his game definitely translates well to the NFL. Works the pocket, good form, drives the ball. Without injury, he would of at worst been the third QB off the board this year, possibly #1...but I'm not a huge fan of the what ifs. The Eagles have him good money and wasted zero time to get him. If the injury completely heals, he may be that super cheap backup who can come in and give you a different way to attack defenses if the starter is struggling. Do I think he should see the field this year? No, but only because I want that knee 100% to see if we can get what you see in the highlights consistently. There is plenty of tape of him giving up on plays early like David Carr purely from just taking so many hits. I want to see what happens when he can roll away from the rush vs just stepping in. I just love the drive of the ball and the way he can climb a pocket and see the whole field. Cole and him had wild chemistry that he may not be able to replicate in the NFL. Cole bailed out some off passes, but he never put Cole in harm's way.

Did he get injured recently? I don't think you can go on pup unless you enter training camp on pup.

I imagine in PS that we don’t see a lot of Mailata, Johnson, Kelce.  Just a bit more of Dickerson and Seumalo.  Barring a trade, that means that Minshew plays behind Jurgens or Anderson at C, Dillard and either Clark or Driscoll at OT. Opeta and Awosika at G.  While we may see some Driscoll at G, they now list him as a T/G.   That means Strong is playing behind a line of Williams at LT, Awosika at RT, Sills and Dunkle at G and Anderson or Jurgens at C. Hope that leg is healthy. (Maybe Toth if healthy.  Suspect Toth starts on PUP).   His WRs will be Ward, Cain, Allen, Wheatfall, Covey, Hammond. (Shall be interesting to see where Reagor and Hightower get time.)  JJAW as TE with maybe Togiai (Suspect Jackson starts on PUP). RBs, Huntley and Brooks.   Don’t know what we can expect from Strong with that crew in PS.

Stubs pinky toe at practice, out for year. Easy enough

Players on pup can't practice with the team. Not good for a rookie QB. They'll carry him on the active roster. I am not absolutely clear on whether players on IR can practice with the team; if they are that might be the way they'll go.

The FO is pretty good at navigating this, he could get "injured" working out or re-aggravate his knee. My main point is I want him on the roster so he can get reps and work on his pocket movement. I would prefer they keep him off IR or PUP or whatever other creative lists they have to stash players. The kid needs reps, and practice is the only way he will get them for awhile.

Once you practice though you are ineligible for pup.  You have to enter training camp on pup I'm pretty sure.

I am pretty sure that they can't.  IR would require an injury, so it would be rehab stuff only.

Let them find the excuse. Howie and them are the best weasels in the NFL. As long as he gets reps, I'll be happy with it. No rush to hit the field, but to get NFL ready should always be the goal for every party involved.

Yes. I'm pretty sure you're right, although they can go to meetings.

Another option is to make a side deal with the player that they will match any other team's offer and then put him on the practice squad. The player does not have to sign with another team if he doesn't want to.

That is only true once they pass through waivers.  If claimed during the waiver period, the player has no choice.   Somehow, given the commitment that the Eagles gave him as a UDFA, they won't let him pass through waivers.  Frankly, a QB with that arm can't be allowed to walk away until you are sure.  I'm 99.9% certain that he'll be on the 53, unless he shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that he's not worth the effort of reclamation.

Player would be subject to waivers.

So you're saying coaches dont install new game plans each week lol

I'm saying it's impossible to know what might of happened.

What did happen is Watkins was open all game and had hurts got him the ball he has well over 200 yards.

Whether Herbert was the QB and whether the Tampa defense plays Watkins different is all conjecture.

Well he'll also be playing against a bunch of scrubs on D as well.

Hopefully the eagles scrubs are better than the other teams scrubs
