Granted I wasn't smart enough to unveil an all black helmet on an all black background but I guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.

What if a black helmet, all black wings, and then just a small white line in the front to imply a wing silhouette that fades away as it goes to the back of the helmet

Honestly at first glance, you can't even tell if it's black or their normal helmet.

Thought the exact same thing

The black helmets almost look like the Falcons, since every team wants to copy the Raiders silver and black, just go with a white helmet with Kelly green wings.

Yesterday was Sheil's last day on BwF.

I tried listening for the first time in months and it didn't take long for Bo to bring his political agenda into it. One of the send off gifts they gave Sheil was a list of all the people Jeff Lurie donated money to.

Without Sheil to take some of the attention away, that pod is going to be insufferable.

I wonder if they bring someone in to replace him or if they just go with Bo and Zach.

Also curious who NBCSN hires to replace Ray Didinger and Seth Joyner. Barrett Brooks is terrible. Joyner sucked too. I can't imagine they have anyone interesting lined up, NBCSN is on its last legs in terms of programming, the only reason it's still around is live sports.

Quality Philly sports personalities are fading away. Ray Diddy, Sheil, Zumoff left in the last year alone.

So this adds to my conspiracy theory about the uniforms.

Jeff Lurie was the owner who brought the 2 helmet rule to the table a few years back in order to get the Eagles back in to Kelly Green.  This year, when the rule was changed, the Eagles somehow "missed the deadline" in submitting their Kelly Green uniforms.  Either it was a total miscalculation by an owner of a team who has a majority of the fans clamoring for KG uniforms or there's more to it.  How does the guy who wanted the rule changed for a specific uniform not have them submitted in time?

I think they are going with a full overhaul for 2023 going back to Kelly Green full time and a black alternate.  By not having any midnight green on the black helmet, it makes it easier for them to use this with KG accents next year.

For the past year or two, every PE social media account has been using a very Kelly Green like shade in the majority of their posts.  It completely clashes with the midnight green so I think they've been doing a soft transition.  Much like the new wordmark.  It's plain and bland but it makes it easy to transition from Midnight Green to Kelly Green.

Personally, I sure hope not.  I'm supposed to be one of those fans clamoring for the Kelly Green since I have been a fan since the early 1970s, but I think the Midnight Green is badass and the Kelly Green is ugly as sin -- I cannot imagine why anyone would want a color that makes us virtually indistinguishable from the sorry Jets.

Current Jets don't really use Kelly Green, it's much darker. In fact, to be completely accurate and nerdy, they use "Gotham Green"

Yep, that's why I said "virtually indistinguishable" rather than "exactly the same".  And it's a better color than Kelly Green, which is unbelievably ugly for a professional uniform.

My assumption is the Eagles first round picks for 2023 will be similar to this year — somewhere around #17 and 20.  If the objective is to get a franchise QB, packaging those two picks in a trade would easily get them into the top 10, which should be all that is required.  I don’t see trying to trade up into the top 3 as the way to go; there are supposed to be 5-6 first round QB prospects for 2023.  Let the dumb teams take Stroud and Bryce Young in the top 5.  The better QBs will be available around #8-10 overall

On first glance, I really don't think the 2023 draft is that rich in QB talent.  I think there is a high volume of second tier QB prospects, which is mistaken for a great QB draft in contrast to the barren 2022 field.  None of these prospects stack up favorably compared to recent studs like Burrow, Lawrence (even if he had a lousy rookie year), Herbert, or even Zach Wilson, who I wasn't too high on.

I don’t think it’s a rich QB class either. I think it’s highly overrated, which is why I was all in to get a QB this off-season. I think there’s a big drop off from Stroud and Young and I think neither of those are Burrow level prospects or even close to it.

I think either Hurts will be the QB again in 2023 or they will panic trade up for a QB who will be solid, but not elite.

I’m of the belief that if you don’t see elite potential that has a relatively good chance of hitting in a QB then you don’t take a QB in the first round. If you want to take a flier in another round, fine, but don’t waste first round picks on guys who like but don’t love just because you need a QB. Build up your roster, and build up your war chest of picks.

And their black is called "stealth black”.  The storylines teams have behind their uniforms are embarrassing to read.

I have a white helmet from that era. Its one of the coolest pieces of memorabilia I’ve found. I would love to see it for a throwback game. But only used once and awhile.

Everybody is Fired Up About the New Eagles Wordmark - Crossing Broad

The Kelly green resurgence kind of goes back to right around when they drafted Carson.  They began using it little by little. Wentz when he did his softball game used the Kelly green and it was a big hit. Then they also began incorporating it more.

i wish we could have seen certain players in the KG jerseys. dawkins in that 2010 Kelly green uniform or a Kelly green in general would’ve been awesome.

The 2017 & 2018 QB classes were good. Guys went early and often.

The 2023 QB class is the same. The challenge is that some of the guys going in the mid-rounds probably aren't that far from the guys in the top 5. After all, Trubisky, Baker and Darnold went top 3 while Mahomes/Allen/Jackson were out of the top 5 but still required trade ups.

I know, I know, I should turn in my Eagles fan card for hating Kelly Green - your post made me laugh out loud.  Then again, I cannot help but point out that the color of the bio-waste sludge in that meme is essentially Kelly Green!

Yup.  Carson really embraced the KG.  Love him or hate him, but I would have loved a Jalen Mills 21 90s KG Jersey.

Right, cuz even an organization as bad as the Jets knows that primary green and colors close to that are horrible on a uniform.  Who wants to walk around wearing primary green merchandise?  Yeecchhh.  To paraphrase the Barenaked Ladies:  "If I had a million dollars, well I'd buy you an Eagles green jersey, but not a Kelly Green jersey that's cruel".  :-)

We can at least all agree that the yellow/powder blue jerseys were terrible right?

Mostly. I did think the scheme of how the colors split (i.e., shoulders one color, torso another, etc) was interesting and kind of cool, but yeah, the actual colors were way too soft for football.

Burrow wasn't considered the top QB prospect heading into the 2019 college football season.  Tua was considered the best prospect heading into the season.  That's why "tank for Tua" was a thing.  Even after the draft, a lot of people thought Herbert was drafted too high.  I am not sure which prospects do or do not match up at this point.  I don't think there is a sure way to know.  Just like Howell was thought of as a potential 1st round QB and Heisman candidate prior to last season, some of the potential prospects are going to look worse after their season.  I do think that the class has more potential picks than last season's class.  I have no idea what I will think after the CFB.
