I wouldn’t hand the keys to Minshew either. I would be very curious how an open competition at QB would fall out.  Minshews numbers across the board for his career are better than Hurts.  Minshew is a better distributor of the football.  He would get the ball in to the hands of the weapons the Eagles have invested in better than Hurts does.  Hurts runs the ball better than Minshew. That’s it. 

Minshew had two starts last year and even you have to admit that no one with any credibility was saying that he should be the team's qb1. If he was able to definitively beat out Hurts in an open competition, someone with credibility would be saying he should be the starter. Minshew isn't some unknown entity. Again, the world has moved past the "Hurts isn't a starting qb" discussion. You, and others on this board, haven't, but that doesn't make you the rational actor in this scenario. So when you write that there are two factions in the Hurts discussion, you are right. There are the rational actors, and there are the crazies. Neither side knows which they are, but one side has experts, the team and the media agreeing with them. And your side isn't that side.

No one thinks this. You need this to be true to make your position seem more rational. 

There’s nothing new with Hurts or his fans. There’s the group that wants him to do well so they will find ways to praise him and look at everything he does in TC in a positive light and there’s the group that want him gone and will look at what he does in a negative light. 

There’s some down the middle but even they generally lean more negative than positive and then they just get called racist or hacks.
