Isn't Bradberry more of a Man style cover corner? If so, the signing wouldnt make much sense giving up all that cap and fitting him into a soft zone scheme. Now if he is a zone based DB, then Im in.

Someone posted some tweet earlier showing he allowed the lowest QB rating when in zone coverage.

the weirdest thing is Steven Nelson was number 2 on that list and we seemed to show absolutely no interest in re-signing him. And he signed a very reasonable contract.

If we dont get Bradberry it seems like a big mistake. And even if we do, on a much more expensive deal, it might still be a mistake.

Henderson isn't any slouch either

I just watched a movie with Vince Vaughn in it and didn't realize he had a claw for a thumb.  Now I can't unsee it in every scene.

Stop sport.  Just stop.  We all know they’re history.  At least most of us real fans know without having to Google it.  They have won 1 Super Bowl.  When someone says "win” I’m talking winning things that matter.  Not being 9-8 and squeaking into the playoffs because of a weak schedule like last year.  And 2018, 2019.  Outside of the glory of 2017.  This is a slightly better than average team the past 15 or so years.

They are (tied) for 4th best in the NFL  in playoff wins since 2000.  "Games that matter" (According to you).

i know a lot of us are old but anything over 15 years ago means very little at this point.  That's what i tell cowboys fans all the time

Could’ve watched the 4th quarter of the bucks/Celtics game. bucks had the same thing happen

They have the same amount of playoff wins in the last 10 years as the Houston Texans

It’s essentially the same roster as last year - cb2 + Reddick/Brown/White/rookies who are ?. It’s a step in the right direction, but that doesn’t put last years team into a top 10 unit. Especially when you didn’t upgrade the most important position on the field.

Did you read the original question?

"Excluding QB, the Eagles have a top-ten roster.  Yes or no?"

Obviously. I only referenced it several times in the post you didn’t fully quote. Point was there is one position that gives you a massive leap amongst others. A pass rushing LB and a WR, don’t, imo.

Let me ask you this. Last year, excluding the QB, where would you rank the team?  Do you think they were borderline top 10?

1 minute ago, 4for4EaglesNest said:

No.  Not even close.   This year, might be barely top 10.  I just don’t believe in the key coaches and QB.  Which is kinda of a big deal.

Hey.  Did you hear that Devonte Smith went to the Sixers game.  And the guy doing the big screen graphics called him the "former Eagle WR”.  Can you believe that?

Oh, the Sixers are in the playoffs.   Ben Simmons isn’t though.

That’s all I’m saying. Right now it would be top 15 but probably closer to 11 or 12. Just putting a general baseline out there. Maybe they can be top 10 but it would require a lot more projection with a different QB vs what they actually have shown.

Last year the roster hovered around average. Adding Brown/Reddick and signing a LB to a $3M deal while downgrading CB and S only moved the needle so much.

Oh, and La’el Collins is suspended. Ever since Andy Reid Eagles actually have had good QB’s.

Other than that, how was the play, mrs lincoln?

Nope.  The defense alone was bottom ten.  And our #2 WR was an embarrassment.

Years ago, during the birth years of YouTube there was a guy that called himself "deer hunter” it was a semi with a huge plow attached to the front of it, and he was just mowing down deer after deer on some sort of freeway. Idk where the F it was, but at first when you see it you feel bad but then when you realize they don’t stop coming it’s kinda like gods work 😂

Don't be surprised if the Celtics win that series.  Guy I work with is a big time mush and he likes the Bucks to win.

Deer have to be the dumbest animal that exists.

That’s my point. We downgraded CB and S while upgrading pass rush and WR. They are better but I don’t think they upgraded enough to say easily top 10. I think the disconnect is mostly rookies. I just always consider the rookie players a tomorrow move vs a today. I don’t count on them making an immediate impact, especially one that slipped to the back end of the top 100. And with depth we are one Smith or Brown injury, who has injury concerns, away from having an embarrassing WR #2 out there.

I’ve thought without middleton that series was a toss up. However bucks issue last 2 games has really been 4th quarter. They’ve been outscored 77-51 in the last two in the 4th. Rest of the those two games the bucks are a +20

What’s your prediction on who we open up with?  I’m guessing Arizona.  Would make sense why week 2 Monday night game.  Extra days rest for long flight.

If Strong isn't streaky like St. Nick, that's not a bad comp.

He was streaky in college.

I think we've seen the best of Miles Sanders who don't get me wrong, is a good running back but he's severely overrated by many.  He's missed 1/4 of each of the last 2 seasons, he had zero TD last year...both rushing and receiving and he still leaves chunks of yards on the field by not making the right cut. His upside IMO isn't that high.

Gainwell is a nice rotational back but not sure what his upside is.  Is he a 3rd down back.  12 games last year he had 5 or fewer carries on a run heavy team.  5 of the games he had zero carries, 1 of them being inactive.  I know half of that is how he's used.  However, he did have 6 total TD compared to Miles zero.  Hear me out with this.  Could he be a Deebo Samuel type of player?  I think he'd be a terrific slot WR.  He's 5-9 201.  Samuel is 6' 215.  Not saying that Gainwell is anywhere near Deebo but could he be used in that same way?

Scott is what he is and Kennedy Brooks, assuming he's the 4th RB, doesn't offer much upside at all.

During that SB run, I would have told you that Corey Clement had higher upside than any RB on the current team.  He looked unstoppable.

Yeah, this is where we re starting to miss Duce. Duce had him headed in the right direction.

Soo... Carson Strong was a top 15 pick in quite a few way too early mocks about this time last year. It wasn't until he came into the season gimpy that his draft stock started to fall. He still threw 36 TDs and 8 Ints on a bum knee. I watched all of his tape from last year and his knee was nowhere near ready. He couldn't step into throws and he couldn't plant off that back leg. It left some throws short and you could tell he was trying to zip the ball into some windows but couldn't because of the knee. He was overall good. His worst game was against San Diego St. and it's because they specifically game planned to force him off the spot knowing he couldn't roll out or throw off-base effectively. That said, his accuracy dealing with a bum leg was amazing.

I watched video of his throws from mini-camp and he's repaired his mechanics now that his leg is usable. He's not quite planting on the back leg but he is rocking his weight forward, is able to step into throws and able to follow all the way through.

My biggest complaint from watching all of his games last year? He needs to do a better job at freezing the safety. That coupled with his bad knee cost him a few picks last year. Nevada ran some vanilla route concepts that were easily defended and didn't do him favors. There was a pick that made me mad. The Z receiver is on a go route and is supposed to get up field and take his man with him to clear out underneath. He cut his route short right as a slant was coming across the field and his man made a play on the ball.
