I would rather listen to a game with Peyton and Eli than buck and aikman or collinsworth and michaels. Obviously those are prime time and you dont really have a choice, but if i had to choose between two prime time games and you had team 1 for one game and team 2 or 3 for the other, i would watch team 1. 

Is it worth 40 mil, no. Would it influence if i watched the eagles or not, no. But it would influence if I watched other games.

Side note, there are some social media accounts that just always nail it, and there’s some that have no clue. It’s an amazing time to be alive in. 

Brady will do well in the booth, and even if he somehow isn't good at it, people will still tune in to listen to him. At least for the first few years.

Furthermore I am not so sure the Sixers starters aren’t beginning to run out of gas for as well as they played in games 3 and 4. The Miami Heat have a very deep team and a very good bench. Butler and bam are the only players averaging over 33 mins a game. So a lot of their guys are much fresher then ours at this point of the game/season. especially when our bench hasn’t been all that great this series.

Harris has not looked nearly as good the last two games. He’s averaging 12.5 points and 3 boards. Over the last 3 games his shooting has been erratic. He’s shooting 40.5% (15-37– games 3 and 5 it was 31 and 36 respectively). the last two games those are raptors playoff series in 2019 numbers. And he’s having to defend more than he’s ever been asked so he might just be wearing down. 

Harden was spectacular in game 4 but looked like he lacked energy and jump in his game tonight. Love Maxey but his numbers shooting wise and scoring wise have declined over 4 straight games from 34 to 21 to 18 to 9. embiid returning there was always going to be a decline. But tonight it looked like he just didn’t have that energy to step up. Maybe he’s potentially out of gas. However he’s also 21 years old. We forget he’s that young cause of how good he’s been. But I’m the playoffs you don’t see often 21 year olds having to be counted on as much as we do with maxey  

Then you have embiid who’s playing with an orbital fracture and torn thumb then asking him to play like an mvp and play 38-40 mins. I don’t think it’s realistic with the injuries he’s dealing with.

Imo besides Glenn not having his teams ready to go (problem he had with closing out series with the clippers) is this team lacks depth to keep their guys fresh in a long drawn out series against a team like Miami. Our bench really stinks. I’d add Danny green can be incredible at times but then be pedestrian at others. At 34 he shouldn’t be a starter but a nice bench guy. Unfortunately thybulle hasn’t improved offensively and you are stuck having him start and play more than he should.  

I follow basketball very little. Why did we let Butler get away?

They'll tune in to watch the game whether he's there or not. In all my years (which have added up) even though I can't stand certain announcers I still watch whatever games I'm interested in

Butler and Simmons didn't mesh well.  So, they kept Tobias, let Butler go with a sign and trade, and tried to move forward with Simmons and Embiid.  Butler and Embiid were a much better mix, and they should have unloaded Simmons back then.  His value was at an all-time high.  But, they decided that he could grow as a player and gave away the best player of the group at that time.

Yup.  But... if the game starts to go a little sideways and the announcers suck... I move on quickly.

Getting rid of Butler was a massive mistake on so many levels not only from a basketball standpoint but also the fans.  I don't think it's a stretch to say that the way Philly embraced Butler was only compared to when TO came to town.  Jimmy Butler would have gone down as an all-time Philly athlete had he not been dealt.  He was on his way to owning this city.

For me any game that goes sideways (except Eagles games) get turned off regardless

Agreed... but I find my tolerance for where the line that defines sideways is directly proportional to the announcing team.

The dumbest thing to me is he’s right handed but his dad made him throw with his left growing up because he didn’t want to be the only left handed person in the family

Strange. I'm naturally left handed but my Dad taught me to shoot right handed so he wouldn't have to buy "special guns". My teachers taught me to write with my right hand too.
