Strange. I'm naturally left handed but my Dad taught me to shoot right handed so he wouldn't have to buy "special guns". My teachers taught me to write with my right hand too.

My grandfather was left handed.  But, when he enlisted in WWII... he was taught to shoot right handed and lob grenades right handed.

Your grandfather was a stud.

He truly was.  Greatest man I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Pretty much. I made it two minutes into the fourth quarter.

At least you didn’t compound watching the sixers game by then watching the Phillies. That was a comedy of errors. 4 to be exact. And we lost 5-4 and one of the runs the mariners got was a bases loaded HBP.

Curious, where do you guys rank the Chiefs going into the season and odds to win the Super Bowl ??

Their division is outstanding, they seem to have taken a moneyball approach to replacing Hill with Juju not being what he was, and Valdes Scantling being a guy who could only get 30 catches a year with Davante Adams attracting all the attention on the other side, Moore was probably the best pure inside receiver in the draft but he's no game breaker. Edwards Helaire is a decent but not outstanding tailback who can't last a season, and Mahomes has a new QB coach for the first time in the pro's.

Given the improvements in the rest of the division, I think they make it into the playoffs in the extended format because the division is good enough to send 3 teams but I don't think they make the Championship game this year.

Do you use a right-handed bow?

The reason I asked, is the Athletic has them ranked #3 in their preseason rankings.

What catches my eye, is they won the Super Bowl in 2019, returned to the Super Bowl in 2020, and were in the AFC title game in 2021.  They IMO have a legitimate shot to at a minimum get to the AFC title game again.

They have done all of the above, and have a shot this year with only 3 offensive starters left from the 2019 Super Bowl team, Mahommes, Kelce and Hardman.  Having a QB will keep your window open.

You’re the original Ben Simmons (forced to shoot with his wrong hand) lol jk

Used to. Now I use a cross bow. Weird thing is I must have picked that up naturally since I taught myself how to shoot a bow.

Always throw left handed. I can shoot a basketball and dribble with either hand (at least I used to be able to).

My wife is a lefty and my son at 9 still hasn't really picked a hand, when he writes hell sometimes switch mid sentence.

Teachers just let him do his thing as long as it works.

Call the sixers up they could use someone who can shoot and throw an entry pass.

Heard Gainwell put on some weight/muscle in the off-season... Anyone have any idea how much weight he's put on?

Shady did the same after his first season.  It elevated his ability to run inside.  Let's hope the same for Gainwell.

I think they're in the window but that's based on last year rather than where they are now, and yes a QB helps keep you close, but eventually even the greats get saddled with rosters they can't carry and I just don't see the talent for Mahomes to throw to, Hardman, Ju Ju, Moore, Valdes Scantling are all WR2 - 3 guys, and I don't think thats good enough in that division.

I still think at some point in time one of obj, landry or will fuller winds up there. Ditto with GB (I’d add julio as a possibility for Gb)

I'm a big Gainwell fan...really Memphis backs in general. Versatility is awesome for a backup RB. They can even motion him out to the slot.

Yup shady as a rookie went down on a fair amount of arm tackles, second year he put in some muscle and was running through those arm tackles

I don't think it's so much about weight as it is body composition

Shady as a rookie still had alot of " baby fat"

That he turned Into muscle and it really helped his game.

Shadys combine showed a lack of lower body strength. He had to build that up

This Tua thing cracks me up.

Our QB was benched for Tua in a title game, because his coach, one of the best in college football history, said our QB "was having trouble getting the ball into the hands of his weapons”. Then Tua takes over the starting job, causing our QB to transfer.

They both go to the NFL, and both struggle throwing the football. In a playoff game, a defensive coach says "he can’t read” about our QB.

Fans get frustrated at our QB, and somehow, some fans call them "racist” or "haters”, when his shortcomings are  blatantly obvious to not just us, but his coach in college and coaches around the NFL. Oh, and Shannon Sharpe among other NFL analysts.

But Skip Bayless likes him, so he has to be good....

Skip Bayless is the highest paid troll in the sports broadcasting industry, who happens to be a life-long DAL fan.  If a life-long DAL fan "likes" the Eagles QB (while trolling), it can be taken as a tell tale sign he is confident the Eagles are on the wrong path.

Alabama QBs have a large adjustment to make when they enter the NFL.  They are accustomed to not only having all of the most highly recruited weapons in the offense, but the offense will be much more talented than the opposition defense.  In addition, they're usually better coached than the opposing defensive coaches.  Essentially, they spend their entire college career operating with a "cheat code" to be successful.

When they enter the NFL much of that is gone.  They need to learn to function against an opposing defense as stacked (or more so) than their own offensive personnel.  They need to study film harder, do their homework on opposing defenses to a much higher standard, and most importantly make decisions much more quickly -- because they're not throwing to wide open WR 10-15 times every game like they did at Alabama.  These are only the most superficial reasons why there are very few long term successful QBs from the program.

All of those things held true for Joe Burrow and he's been able to make the leap to the NFL successfully -- even while getting his knee blown up in his rookie season.  It would be useful for NFL teams to analyze closely how he's achieved where most others have not.
