I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

Is Brown still practicing? I saw the TD he had early, but its been 100% Smith after.

Hard to say. I think it was all 2nd team. Maybe they rotated some starters in?

That tweet right there is why a controlled practice will NEVER replicate a live game.

A "sack" in practice very well could be a sack in a game but that could also turn in to a sack/fumble, a missed sack with a QB rolling away, along with many other scenarios.

Smith is special

Also a panic throw that is intercepted, an injury, to many variables, and you need to put what you have learned into practice in a game.

I'd assume Brown is going against Ward which might be why

I hope Gannon is better and not just creative but effective.  Having different looks and blitzing more doesn't fix problems if they aren't shutting teams down. They cannot have QBs throwing at an 80% clip against them.  It's not like the secondary was that much worse last season than 2020.  Gannon underperformed with essentially the same talent that Schwartz had the prior season.

Agree but inherited personnel and probably some of Gymshorts schemes, too. Roll with what they know for now...that was then.

This is his year to shine, I bet his wish list for players is 75% fulfilled...Want him to take full control, roll out his best and brightest, make this D his own now that he has some players.

I doubt opposing QBs will realize the success they had against our secondary last year. I don't expect so much time in pocket for them and our new corner config should help. Love a hard bangin Safety in the middle, Dawk, where ya been?

Back to @justrelax 's recent review of new D alignments against the Jets, 2/4, 2/5 etc. which allows freedom of movement along the line, Linebackers scraping easier thru traffic, secondary now a plus...

Gannon is set up to win or fail. Job's on him.

I'm assuming that Hurts told Pascal, Watkins, Reagor and Brown that no matter what he wasn't throwing to them today.

Tomorrow is all Watkins.

Hold on to your butts

That startled me so I looked it up.

2020 (Washburn)  Yards per game - 363.10, Passing yards per game - 237.40, Rushing Yards per game - 125.80, Points per game - 26.10

2021 (Gannon)      Yards per game - 328.80, Passing yards per game - 220.90, Rushing Yards per game - 107.90, Points per game - 22.60.

Gannon's defense was better in every category.

It’s more perception than reality, through the first 9 games last season, the defense gave up 75.5% completions, the worst in history for a full season was the 2016 Lions at 72%.
During the final 8 games the defense played against Jones, Wilson, Siemien, Fromm/Glennon, Gilbert, Heinicke, Bridgewater and Dak.
My guess is after Carr completely embarrassed the Eagles by completing 91% of his passes, Howie ripped Siriani and Siriani torched Gannon, told him to move his Safeties forward 15 yards or he’ll be the teams gardener for the rest of the season.  That might also be the last game Siriani called the plays on offense.

Yeah I'm hyped about him. Howie blew that, shoulda kept payin that zombie to steal money and completely vacate his position.

I would just like to point out that all our talk of oil production drove the Energy sector higher today with reaction to higher WTI and Brent price.
