I have also posted on the EMB for 20 years, what’s your point ?

But have you contributed?
Not of late, I would suggest. You have fallen in with bad company.

I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

I kinda like it when the old dudes go into scheme specifics.  This "pillar" drama is dumb.  Let people enjoy things and don't take goofy message board banter so seriously.

Go Birds.

I still contend my best call was saying pregame that a cover 2 call could lead to a big hit vs the saints on the swing pass…

then sheldon brown killed reggie bush.

Yeah, not contributed.

I have set up the board pigskin pickem and survivor pool the last couple years.

I have run the EMB mock off-season for the last 8-10 years.

I facilitated the conversation between. Dave Spadaro and @VaBeach_Eagle which almost acquired the database to move the shut down board into this board so we lost nothing.

Ha. I've been working with computers since the 1970s, when Penn had their twin IBM 360s and you had to feed in your programs in a card reader. I learned to program in Fortran. That shows how old I am!

Yes, I'm the ringleader, I've got the basement where we stash the little boys, and I'm in constant touch with Brandon and his deep state cronies who give our cabal our marching orders.

Geez, some people need to stop reading conspiracy theories, grow a pair, don't be so touchy and develop a sense of humor to boot. Life is "us and them" only if you make it so.

We've been talking football for decades, if we seem like an "inner circle," it's because there is a group here that tries to refrain from the adolescent attacks and "mine is bigger than yours" behavior that unfortunately has become more prevalent on this board and in society at large. Just b/c you're on an internet message board, you don't need to check your manners at the door. We like to talk football, line play, zone coverage, route running, TE blocking, arcane crap that seems to excite us for some perverse reason. While we disagree on a regular basis, we refrain from personal attacks or disrespectful comments (well, for the most part).

JR has got a fetish for the big uglies, which we appreciate because he brings unique insights to line play that the rest of us lack (us meaning the cabal, can't speak for the expertise of others).

And yes, we go off topic, been doing it for a couple decades, some of us have a thang for American history.

Such a memorable hit.  I miss that defense.

F off. In fact I bought the laptops and  iPads for them.

I'm proud to earn a F off from the most cordial person on the board.  My work here is done.

And you complain when we discuss the QB situation.

And you can not hear any negative viewpoint of Howie, and justify all his failures.

You can not admit any fault of your own or with Howie.

I don't know the proper exchange rate, but message board manners to real-world manners should be somewhere around 0.5.  Don't eliminate, but you definitely need to double the micron filter gaps.

When are bad manners attractive? Maybe when you're 16 and you think that crap is funny.

Manners are the lubricant for the wheels of civilization.

That would still be legal, the receiver took a step, the hit was with the shoulder through the mid-section.

Just goes to show the game can be physical under today's NFL rules without being dirty.

We know too much about the effect of concussions to applaud dirty hits to the head.

That's the worst quote I've ever read.

I'm not saying we need to talk about football...but attacking people is getting old and killing the spirit of what this place used to be.  I swear this place has become a cess pool since the move.

Bad manners are never attractive.  A de-personalized forum that reduces formalities and is more impulsive...that's not inherently bad.

That would be a penalty today right?  Nevermind, stupid question.

One of the great hits of my life. But dawk killing crumpler will always be the pinnacle.

the saints killed us with that swing pass in the tegular aeason. We didnt run much cover 2 but it just seemed like such a great trap to set. And man did they spring it.

It would absolutely be flagged today with them saying he was defenseless and didn’t make a football move. Even if it’s perfect to the rule I’d bet that draws a flag today with a ref watching it live.

Yep.   I doubt that’s a penalty today.

I was wrong, but I thought right after that hit we are winning two games and a Lombardi.

Have that game on DVD thanks to @VaBeach_Eagle

You clearly don't know anything about the intricacies of OL play...you have to look it up or get someone's opinion...the Blog has always been about intelligent and thoughtful discussion, something you have distorted and diluted...you are the closest thing to Douglas704 we have seen

That’s not fair to Doug. While he was a huge troll, he could talk coverages.  Only reason I read through pages of his drivel is every once in a blue moon, we could get him to discussing coverages.
