Just struggle seeing Eagles have 2 QBs and 7 WRs. Does a 7th WR deserve to make the team? 6 I see.

Also, Kyron Johnson IMO is too good to cut. EDGEs get picked up immediately.

I struggle with it too, but as I said Allen is on my roster for the same reason Mailata was on the roster his first year.  Just as you can't teach Mailata-like size and athleticism, you can't teach Allen-like speed.  What he showed on Sunday was athleticism to go with the speed.  As a hater of the Cowboys I have too many Bob Hayes long completions etched into my brain.  If Allen can be as good as Hayes, we will have been truly blessed.

Who would you omit in order to add Kyron Johnson.  A Reagor trade would open a slot.  A Harris trade would open a slot.

I think he had to know but was so far invested in this person that the embarrassment of admitting it fed him to keep the charade up.  He told his parents he met her numerous times even though every time there was an excuse why she couldn't.

I was borderline catfished when I was 20, roughly the same age as Te'o.  Only difference is I actually met this girl at the gym I worked at.  We talked for a few minutes, exchanged numbers and that was that.  We both went away to school.  We spent the entire semester texting, talking on the phone and such but every time I suggested going out to visit or having her out, an excuse was made.  Even went out of our way to make her Thanksgiving meal requests with my mom only to have her cancel.  But the conversations were so lengthy and deep that I cared for this girl.  Long story short, the girl I was talking to on the phone wasn't the one I had met at the gym, it was a friend of hers.  It all came crashing down when an "uncle" reached out to me that she was in trouble.  I called a sorority sister to ask and they had no idea who I was referring to.  I did as much research as I could and found out that this girl gave me a fake name and had been arrested for writing bad checks.  Once it was out in the open and I had a clear mind, I looked back at the insanity of what happened to me.  The fake family that was created, the excuses and like Te'o I was sent pictures but that was easy back then.  There was no facetime so it was phone calls and a random picture that was easy for her to steal and send.

When you're young, think you're in love and don't want to lose credibility with family and friends it's easy to ignore red flags.

Yeah, but the upside for Mailata was definitely worth the investment of time.  I don't see Allen being anything more than a one trick pony gadget player.  JM became a football player.  Is Allen a football player who can run fast or a track star who plays football?

I hear what you say, but those same things were said about Bob Hayes when the Cowboys signed (and developed) him.  That proved to be an investment that paid handsome dividends.  If the Eagles coaches only see Allen as a one-trick pony, then it isn't worth it, but if they see an Allen route tree being similar to the Bob Hayes route tree then I believe it is worth it.

Thank you for the interesting response.

I know Reagor has been a major bust this far but he’s still, at this point, a better player than Allen.

Agreed, but the deficiency in Reagor's game is his head.  Allen doesn't have the luxury of having a screwed-up head.  He knows that would make him DOA.

We're screwed of Slays injury is anything serious that lingers into the season.

Looking at our first ever joint practice loss with how Tyreek Hill is having his way with our defense.

Not at all, maybe the offense led by the franchise QB and the BFF 100 million dollar WR will have to step up and outscore some teams.

Mailata was also like 20 or 21 and was young enough to develop. Allen will be 28 this year. You are only keeping him for immediate contributions to the team, he’s not a guy you hang on to and develop over time.

That is a consideration.  Hayes played effectively/productively until he was 32.  Getting four high quality years out of Allen on a Rookie contract would be excellent return on investment.

Perspective being the key word.  When giving a countering viewpoint, his response is basically his opinion is fact, and is unable to see any counterpoint or acknowledge that they have made bad decisions, whether it be FA's, trades, contracts, the absolutely horrendous drafts until the last two years.

We all know that they have made bad decisions.  Bad decisions on players are the rule rather than the exception.

It is a lot like batting average in baseball, where if you succeed three times out of ten and fail seven times out of ten you are one of the top 10% of all of baseball's hitters.  Do you expect a Phillies batter to get a hit every time they come to the plate?  I suspect you don't.  However, you do expect the Eagles to make good decisions every time ... and instead of celebrating their good decisions, you harp on their bad decisions.

Which brings me to a follow-up question ... How do you have fun as a football fan?  Where is your upside?

Agreed.  That is why I play Bridge instead.

Reagor is not quite at JJAW level

I’d rather have JJAW than reagor on my team. At least you can use JJAW on ST and to recover fumbles
