Early pick aside, I like Desmond Ridder a lot. Was one of my favorite QBs in the draft class. I think he's going to be good. And I hope if he plays this season he tears it up for two reasons.

1. Less competition for QB next offseason if Atlanta believes he's their guy.

2. NFC South being tough hurts the Saints.

Im glad theyre joining. Ill be happy to see some offense in the conference.

You mean you don't like three play series with three 2-yard runs and a punt?

We’re in the Super Bowl if those are his numbers.

with 24 TDs?

Oh I see, its 32 total. I was thinking it was 24 TDs and 8 INTs. My brain told me it was something realistic.

Another one that doesn’t get it.

It is about the top 3 STARTING offensive line, not about the QB.  Minshew v Jets proves the running game goes, not because of Hurts, but because of the top 3 STARTING offensive line.

I really wonder about a bunch of folks reading comprehension.

I apologize profusely for not realizing that a post where someone cites running back stats in relation to who played quarterback in that game was in fact a discussion about offensive lines.

Carry on.

That would be about 11th in passing yards and 12th in passing TDs.  He needs to progress to that point to keep a starting job for next year IMO

This was my first post in that discussion.  Quite clearly about the line, but to provide the necessary context, had to show they are just as effective with a QB other than Hurts.

Nothing to do with Hurts, that is the top 3 offensive line.

Eagles RB’s 2021, 4.8 yards per carry.

Eagles RB’s vs Jets with Minshew at QB, 4.83 yards per carry.

And that is based on last year stats.  It’s not like Hurts will be the only QB who has a chance to put up better numbers next year.

Projection is "Hurts hasn’t been good.”  Realistically Hurts has been good … but not good enough to satisfy the desires of a substantial portion of the fan base.

Hurts has been a horrible passer in a passing league.  I'd rather the Eagles didn't start a QB who isn't good enough to win with his arm.  So either Hurts becomes a good passer or he won't be starting for the Eagles 2023.    He has plenty of weapons at his disposal and a great O-line.   No more excuses.

I'd be disappointed if they offered him an extension if he hadn't reached 4k yds but Murray and Lamar's contract makes me worried they would anyway

Yup.  I think it’s very difficult to argue that Hurts isn’t a bottom-tier (25-32) passing QB.  We will see this season to what point he can develop with those weapons

They absolutely cannot extend him if his numbers look like that. Has to do it next year also

Logan Bonner might be a pretty good QB. Wish I was getting that game.

Illinois RB is fun to watch but I dont know how anyone can power through 6 hours of a boring big 10 team struggling with Wyoming.

What happened to @jsb235 ??

Furiously pounding the 100% accurate PFR numbers I used to prove him wrong into a calculator trying to find a glimmer of hope that he has not made a complete fool of himself in front of the entire blog.

The stats i used are directly from the website. You did some math and came up with different numbers. Again, i fail to see why you are arguing with me. Your beef is with pfr.

No, I did not come up with different numbers.  You said 3 game stretch.  To get the rating for the 3 games, you have to add the stats up used to calculate QB rating for the 3 games and then calculate the QB rating.  You can’t just add the QB rating for 3 games and divide by 3.

Doing it correctly, the last 3 games is the 3rd best stretch in regards to QB rating for Hurts last season.

Why not just give Strong this game or just a half. Minshew should have it locked at 2

Exactly what I have been saying all day, he is a below average passer.

Obviously showcasing him to be traded so secret weapon Carson Strong can be the #2
