Fox news is a joke. Always has been, always will be. When I visit the folks back in PA, I have to turn it off, immediately, as it rots the brains by avoiding any and all facts. It's "feels" based. Every other talking head on fox shares basically the same premise - Give part of a story and then followup with the phrase "Doesn't that make you mad?" As far as "25" goes, I don't know, perhaps pick any of those who fought tooth and nail for the discredited steele dossier or carried water for the Biden Laptop foreign disinformation campaign. Here's the thing, plenty to talk about, without the lies. But no one wants to talk about it. Fox news is obviously biased and lacking credibility/reliability. It's that fact that left leaners imagine the same does not exist with left leaning outlets. This thread is chock full of examples. But instead, it's whataboutism with Fox News, when presented with it, here. Enjoy. Now I recall why I don't post often, it's pointless

It's constantly mentioned how sheety outlets like CNN, etc are by those on the left. And yet, nothing compares to the propaganda machine that is right wing media. They literally just invent stories and run them. They don't even try to find legitimate sources. It's just a feedback loop from the right wing masses to their opinion shows, where stories are pulled directly out of people's asses, posted to twitter, then regurgitated back to the people on Fox Opinion shows. They don't even attempt to be legitimate. And the biggest difference in right vs. left media is that the right leaning media is wildly popular and watched religiously. Liberals tend to get their news online, but conservatives give these Fox News personalities massive followings and the power to shape policy within the party. There's nothing even remotely comparable on the left.

You had to "called me out" LOTS of people to focus on the ONE MSM outlet that leans right. I guess you like beating a dead horse - Oh wait, you are here to try to DO THAT VERY THING! I'd expect lots of entries from Fox News to in a general "Media Lies" thread. But you see, this is the thread to point out the leftist lies. And since you are here, pushing whataboutism, I can only assume this is you ...

This is funny for a couple reasons, but you keep saying they're the one mainstream media outlet. But what are you talking about? Most people get their news online in 2023, not from the dinosaurs on TV. And there are endless right wing websites/"news organizations" out there. They may not seem like they're "mainstream" but that's because right wingers prefer Fox New's website. Look at these numbers: That's an absolute beat down. They get well over 10 times the traffic of their closest competitor. But there's no lack of outlets. Republicans just prefer to get their media from one singular corporate conglomerate. So, yeah, if an entire political party is going to willingly drink from the exact same trough, then that source should be scrutinized more than any other outlet on either side.

There's no shortage of people living outside of the country who use Fox News to read about what's going on in the U.S. too. That's how you get these Dr. Philly type morons who think they understand higher education in the U.S. because they read something on the Fox News site that happened at Princeton or Brown.

You are such a partisan hack. As I've told you countless times, I read all sorts of stuff from all sides (read my signature you dope) which is why I'm capable of presenting an argument/opinion that at least has a chance at being objective. You, on the other hand, stick only within your bubble and produce nothing more than partisan heckling. Also, please stop using my name without tagging me.

And since you are here, pushing whataboutism, I can only assume this is you ... one source, he's still going with that line. lol ok, lets play that game. considering that one source is where 95% of the dipsheet fringe right goes for their info and lives by their words like its the constitution itself, i'd say thats nearly as bad as 10,000 left fringe outlets spewing their version of crap. then throw in OAN, newsmax and all the other gop sewage factories across the internet and i'd say the playing field of stupid is pretty even. btw - i didnt know picking apart a horrible narrative like you are passively, aggressively pushing here, in the same thread, was called whataboutism, i thought it was just having a debate. but hey, i'll go check out the media lies thread. im sure its full of your posts about how horrible fox, oan and newsmax are.
February 21, 20232 yr It comes down to reach. Fox News has the biggest reach of any news outlet. Liberals don't watch network news in nearly the same numbers for starters. The liberal media is really limited to the major national publications (NY Times, Washington Post) and to a degree social media (though Twitter is becoming decidedly less so). Those are the outlets with a lot of reach. Smaller regional and local newspapers are much more of a mix, with suburban and rural newspapers being anywhere from moderate to fairly right-wing. In terms of influence, Rupert Murdoch's empire has much greater ability to shape the minds of its viewers and readers than any other. The "media" taken as a whole has more ability to influence right-wingers than left. By nature left-wingers / liberals argue and fight as much with their own news outlets as right wingers do. Lots of liberals hate the NY Times, some because it's too liberal some because it's not liberal enough 🙄. There's some of that on the crazy right fringe with Newsmax eating up those for whom Fox is "too liberal". In any case, anybody who has boomer age parents probably recognizes the hold Fox seems to have on that whole generation. It's actually freaking scary.
