March 30, 20233 yr The more I learn about how seriously some people take this place, the more weirded out I get. Or maybe I'm the weird one? Not saving screenshots, not exchanging PMs with Mods, reporting posts, etc.

Might even have to put you on my tracking spreadsheet if this sort of hullabaloo continues.

Just like Pence. And every other person that has discovered documents. I realize knowing things and understanding context is difficult, but try. You'll still fail, but at least try first.

March 30, 20233 yr It's not surprising to me that various high level government officials discovered documents - some confidential - that should have been given to the archives. These guys peddle in thousands of documents every week, and generally speaking those at the highest levels entrust the safety and filing of these documents to subordinates. If Trump had acknowledged that he mistakenly or inadvertently retained a bunch of documents and returned them to the archives when discovered nobody would be making a big deal out of it. Frankly it is unlikely to ever have even made the news because it would have been a quiet operation. The difference between these scenarios is how the mistakes are handled. Biden & Pence alerted the archives when they discovered the documents and opened up their homes and offices to scrutiny to ensure both transparency in their cases as well as simply to be good stewards of sensitive data. Trump .. chose to claim the documents were his own, relented and returned some claiming that was it and no additional documents existed, and further resisted when confronted with the knowledge that additional documents were at Mar-a-Lago, and ultimately forced the hand of the gov't to retrieve the documents by a surprise raid. One of these people is not like the others. It's fair to question in totality the manner in which all these elected public servants handled these documents and how they ended up in their private residences and offices. It's partisan hackery to draw any sort of ethical equivalence between what Biden & Pence did and what Trump did. It's absurd that this all even has to be stated.
