Speaking of taking shots, Covey reminds me of that brit dude in European Vacation.  Regardless of how a return is going, the guy is always going to end up getting wrecked.

Probably not the right time but Penei Sewell has more catches than JJAW this year and only 5 behind jalen Reagor.

Lol didn't Reagor guarantee a win this week?

Another swing and miss for me.  I hope they keep piling up.  Such a great dude.  I hope he gets double digits and NFLMOY

Might be my alltime favorite eagle. He just keeps going

Awesome longevity Fact: Last Eagles roster to not have Brandon Graham or Donovan Mcnabb on it was in year 2 of Bill Clinton’s second term

Watching the game on catch up allowed me to do some pause/rewind. The OL, TEs and RBs did a great overall job giving Hurts the time in the pocket and not do his runaround freak out stuff.  Mailata needs to get his mojo back, but that OL is cooking at the moment.

In Rugby, a drop kick is the ball hits the ground is kicked on the uptick which isn't a punt.  The Giants punter double hit the ball, which is a different thing entirely, hence the penalty

And a new competitor has entered the arena!

This is a classic blog argument.  Essentially how quickly after the ball hits the ground must you kick it to avoid an illegal drop kick penalty.

Get you a nice cup of coffee and dig in, bloggers!

Well men, I have to say that Hurts continues to impress me. I'm not sure how Siri took what he was last year and made him into what he is this year but it has to be one of the best jobs of coaching I have seen in my 60 years on this planet. I hope this continues into the playoffs against much tougher teams but if it does I just might have to buy a Hurts jersey per my comments last year (not that I want to support Lurie at all).

The NFL rules aren’t set by the rulebook. The rule book lays a foundation and the referee group interprets that foundation. If the ref says it’s a violation and the league office doesn’t dispute it, then that’s the rule.

It’s why the Dez Bryant noncatch wasn’t a catch as per the ref’s interpretation of the rule, and why Trent Cole grazing Peyton Manning’s helmet was a 15 yard penalty.

The refs said that drop kick wasn’t immediate enough… and that’s that.

Why is this still a thing? Whether it was a drop kick (missed field goal) or an illegal kick the Eagles would still get the ball will nearly the exact same field position (minus 10 yards).

Ive just reported this entire thread, so expect a complete message board ban for all of you people

Yes and now he's playing the sympathy card on his social media talking about how much he misses his friend Gladney.  #distraction

Happy for Blankenship. Obviously helps the team's postseason run, but a full blown ACL might have upended his career. He's shown the upside to at least be a backup safety in the NFL.

Still a LONG way to go, and anything can happen, but it's nice to just know you are watching a REALLY good team. It's fun.

Brian Johnson has a lot to do with it.  When the defense is on the field, Hurts with his IPad is sitting with Johnson discussing things.

Hopefully he can come back for the Dallas game. If he isn't ready to go for the Bears I think we can get by without him.

Hard to argue about that

Wouldn't CJ Gardner Johnson be back before then?

From a practical perspective, we shouldn't want Hurts to get MVP votes. It's just going to make the contract even more expensive.

He's getting a large contract no matter what.  I'd love to see him win MVP.  Haven't seen an Eagles player win that in my lifetime.  Would be a great thing to see for the QB that will likely go down as the best in the team's history.

He can't come off of IR until after the Cowboys game.  I don't think CJGJ is coming back before the playoffs though.

Jalen is the most standup guy you could imagine, and Tua is genuinely a good dude… so I have no doubt their relationship is excellent.

But I can’t fathom a scenario where Jalen doesn’t deep down want to show that the Championship game benching doesn’t define the disparity between the QBs. That is the mother of all shoulder chips. Taken in the same draft, one a top 5 pick, one a second rounder. Both again competing for MVP candidacy. Jalen turning on the tv today and see Tua shitting the bed all over Southern California has to be, "Dang, that’s my friend… but also F you everyone who doubted me.”
