I wasn't complaining.   I was merely stating that when the majority of the throws are LOS-5/7 yards the time out should be quicker.  Yes, I want more down field passing but if you're doing quick passes close the LOS, the ball is going to be out quick.

If they get it to 4th and 3ish - go for it.

The "just win the game” thing to do is run a screen to improve FG chances.

The thing I want to see is the football travel past the first down marker in the air.

Making a statement that passes close to the LOS should be coming out faster so there's not much to that stat.  I would love to see a more down field passing attack with Smith but that isn't a complaint.  I wasn't complaining about the stat, just stating why.

Or... run your QB up the middle and have 300 lbs jump on his back once he's on the ground.

That is the perfect time to call a QB draw.

Making the Cowboys burn a timeout is also important.
