Say Will Anderson Jr. isn't an option in round 1 with Saints pick... Which player would you most want on the Eagles if you could choose from the field?

Sirianni might have learned that from Doug and Co (via Reich).  Back in 2017, the Eagles dealt with Von Miller much the same way.   It was a brilliant game plan.

Yeah. I feel like theres been other more recent examples as well. But I couldnt name any off the top of my head. Maybe Im making it up.

I would say Aaron Donald has never managed to have a good game against us.

I also kept remembering giving Luke Kuechly a rough night, and Brooks knocked him out of the game with a concussion on a punishing block. I think that night basically ended his career.

I’m gonna pat myself on the back here, I raised that exact game and handing of miller before the cowboys game.

So what’s the plan this week? Players off to recover? What are coaches working on? Blitz pick up, blitz hot routes? Other teams seem to have their greatest success blitzing, so they really need to focus on countering it.

Defensively, disguising looks and somehow improving tackling has to be top of mind I’d think.

Lions will miss Swift a lot on O.  Cowboys D should slow that O down.  Lions D will be a good match for the Cowboys O ... both flawed.  It may come down to kickers.

Cowboys offense should be able to handle Detroit pretty easily.

This Eagles team is built In a way It reminds me of how the Steelers used to play with Rothelisberger when they were good. Defense is good, stop the run, be able to rush the passer, get turn overs, Offense is run based, but with good weapons, QB basically has to manage the game, make good decisions and can extend some plays with his athleticism.

The main difference where everyone will poo poo this, is the Eagles offensive style revolves around the RO and RPOs where that was clearly not the steelers offense. But we have a good Defense, can play both the run and the pass, we primarily run the ball, Can take over games with it, if we remember to keep running, and we have a strong QB who can extend plays, make things happen, and yet wont light up the TD stats throwing the ball regularly.

It really is a tried and true method of winning, with a twist. How many years has the board called for RUN THE BALL, STOP THE RUN type of play? Ever since I have been coming, back in 2001, it's always been an issue.  This feels good. That drive in the 4th, when Shane/Nick remembered to run the ball, took off over 7 mins and what 15 plays?, and just drove it down their throats. This is how you wear teams out.

The challenge will be when we get behind, can we play out of it throwing it when we need to?

The challenge will be whether or not the front office/owner is happy with that style.  This team was built to throw the ball... the QB's best trait and the OL's best skill set is running the ball.  But the weapons are in place to throw.   Weird dichotomy.

Bye week is always a vacation week for them.  Coaches do more regular '9-5' type hours... then back to the grind.   They should spend the bye week self-scouting and looking more deeply at the Giants.  Those games appear to be huge for the division.

Offensively, this team NEEDS to get better against the blitz, especially a zone blitz.  They can only get better at it though if the QB keeps his eyes down field against it.

In theory you may be right, but they really don't have much left to offer as compensation after the Wilson depleted their Draft pick inventory.

They don’t but i don’t think teams are going to give them a kings ransom for Payton. If they ask for something ridiculous then i don’t see anyone hiring him. So at some point i think the saints would likely settle for picks that have conditions on them that bump up with Payton’s success. Also based off what I’ve read it doesn’t have to just be draft pick/player compensation, it could me paying the saints a boatload of money. In a world where owners love their money I could see money and some picks the broncos have left going there. I’d say Dallas would be a team that competing with broncos, but i think Jerry jones is more likely to go with kellen Moore cause he can still have a lot of control whereas with Payton they’d likely clash

Flawed?  Detriot is averaging 34 ppg against.  That's not flawed, its completely dysfunctional.

Besides the lions defense being arguably the worst in the league (it’s definitely bottom 5) as DVOA they are ranked 32nd, I’d add swift is expected to be back this week.

I don't think it was necessarily gameplan specific for Parsons. We've been running that scheme all year.

The two-week countdown to the NFL's Nov. 1 trade deadline is officially on and roster movement is all but promised.

Over the final 10 days before last year's deadline, 10 teams consummated a total of nine deals. Most of the moves involved back-end roster players or marginal starters over late-round picks, but one big splash got everyone's attention: the Los Angeles Rams shipping two Day 2 picks to the Denver Broncos for the rights to Von Miller, a Super Bowl catalyst.

"Teams are seeing that you can have success if you play the market right," an executive for an NFC team said. "The appetite will be there. We are becoming a better trade deadline league."

During that span, the Broncos led the league with four deals completed. Will general manager George Paton stay aggressive to help Denver's struggling offense?

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is always lurking, armed with quality offensive line depth that teams covet. Roseman listens to every possible deal and already has an extra first-round pick in next year's NFL draft. Will he impose his front-office will? And don't forget about Rams general manager Les Snead, who has a fun letter to place in front of "Them Picks."

The Carolina Panthers are in a clear reset window at 1-5, and general manager Scott Fitterer's phone will be buzzing. He already has traded away disgruntled wideout Robbie Anderson.

Plus, there are always a few teams that aren't as good as they thought and could move off key players as a result. The Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals, sitting at 2-4, come to mind.

To preview the action over the next two weeks, here's a notebook stocked with what I'm hearing on potential deals across the league.

It comes down to whether or not the front office brass is happy with it.  There have been reports of Lurie being upset with a MNF win against GB in the past where they played ground and pound to win the game.   Lurie has always talked about being among the best passing offenses.  It's a very different philosophy right now.  This isn't the Bills' offense, or the Chiefs'.  This is much more Baltimore Ravens than that.

Another big difference is that I don't believe that Big Ben got the kind of huge salary and bonus money that today's QBs are getting.  If Hurts is willing to sign a team-friendly extension then he can more than likely have a career like Ben's because there will be enough Cap money to keep the other parts of the team operating at a very high level.
