I really hope the offenses doesn’t revert to what they did in the regular season. They’d have a big inning then coast the rest of the game and then it kind of bleeds over to the next couple games. With musgrove going in game 3 vs. Suarez, it feels bad we blew a 4-0 lead with nola on the mound.

And we let guys like machado, soto, cronenworth, bell and drury get going.

Not strong, probably about average. But arm strength isn’t the biggest factor in hitting WRs downfield in stride. That’s a very common misconception. Most of the best deep ball throwers of the last decade were not big arm guys

Yep.  Everyone thinks you need a cannon to throw a decent deep ball.  Obviously that’s not the case because guys like Wentz have cannons but can’t seem to hit guys deep on a consistent basis.

Deep ball accuracy has much more to do with timing and touch than anything else.

Any post that you can’t admit he still has flaws in his game, and limits in his skill set.

Nope, he didn’t.

I still wouldn’t have pulled him after striking a guy out.  I’d still trust him to face at least 1 more hitter to get out of the inning.  If you can’t trust your Ace at that point, who can you trust?  Anyway, what is done is done.

I’ll squirt for Hurts, 6-0 while Wentz is yet again hurt and about to yet again on a new team next year if he is lucky. Probably forced to retire.

I’d go nola one more cause he’s better than anyone at that point out of the pen besides dominguez and Alvarado. So unless we were going Alvarado that early i rather have had nola go. But they were playing the numbers if LHP vs. LHB. The issue was hand blew it by hitting cronenworth. That’s where the mismatch was and once it was drury vs. hand we were in trouble.

Yep.  I said the same exact thing to my buddies.  Basically that Nola even at 80+ pitches is still better than anyone out of the  pen at that point other than Dominguez and Alvarado.

But I get the entire left handed mismatch etx and had Nola not just struck out the previous batter, then maybe go ahead and pull him.

The fact that he just K’d the previous batter should have given enough confidence in him knowing he had settled down enough to just strike a guy out.  I would have went 1 more hitter, if he doesn’t get him out, then pull him.  I get all the analytics etc but sometimes you just need to trust your Ace.

Yeah. Frankly i don’t like bringing in hand mid inning. He’s tended to struggle when we do that as well.

At this point game 3 feels like whoever takes it really is positioned well to win the series. Sadly the pitching matchup favors the padres with musgrove vs. Suarez and musgrove has been hot late. Suarez can’t be walking 5 guys and only going 3.1 innings. If that happens the Phillies are likely in a lot of trouble. Imo Game 4 is a toss up between clevenger and Thor. It’s likely coming down to whose bullpen pitches better that game. If the Phillies win game 3 then you have to feel good they can win 2 of 4 with wheeler and nola pitching games 5 and 6. If they lose game three, i feel like it’s a really tall task to win 3 of the next 4 with the staff we have outside of wheeler and nola, their rotation having darvish, snell and musgrove going again and their pen as compared to the padres’ pen. Imo game 3 likely dictates the winner of the series.

Folks in support of Hurts by and large are realistic about his game. You and your clique continue to use this logical fallacy to try and position support for Hurts in the extreme -- it is a tactic, not a position for reasonable discussion and it misrepresents people just so you can satisfy your 5th grade smarty pants jones. People supporting him are also hoping he continues to grow as a QB, that he continues to learn to read defenses better, increase his ability to go through a play's progressions and not run as much, etc. He has done a great deal of this, appears to be highly coachable and driven to succeed. Hat's off to our QB and a Bronx cheer to you and your boy band.

Exactly. In my post I didn’t even mention hurts. I made the simple point that you can hit a go route at 45 yards if you can’t throw 60. But the special people take that to mean I can’t see flaws in his game. If anything I’m saying a flaw can be overcome. But hey I gave up on logic here a long time ago when the idiots ran into the blog

Frustrating that they were so close to punching their ticket to the WS today had Nola just showed up.

Regardless, a 1-1 split on the road in the NLCS is a better spot than we ever figured to be in.

Sandstorm is getting hung out to dry

A good look at our oline versus their dline.

(437) Matchup Breakdown: Analyzing Dallas Cowboys DL vs Eagles OL - YouTube

The Dallas line does some interesting things on defense in terms of pass rushing, and Parsons is a legit monster, but I came away thinking that we could have just run the ball against them the whole game and they never would have stopped it. It seems like the running plays that did get stopped were due to missed blocks or rbs not finding the right hole rather than their defense doing anything special.

Yea it’s a shame because they didn’t even play that well on offense. That was a really fluky inning that they couldn’t take advantage of in the long run.

Gotta hope the bats heat back up at CBP.
