Is this true?

No.

the bad extensions for no production is a separate issue done for different reasons. The attempt at running it back and repeating another super bowl run. That was a miscalculation, no doubt. The money was wasted. But the overall concept of borrowing money from the future because it is worth more now, is sound. The resulting dead cap is why people are screaming CAP HELL! But it is not true.

Meh... the copious amount is because of the bad moves.  I've got no issue with dead cap space, in principle.  But, imo, it compounded upon itself and ended up costing more than it would have if they had swallowed the pill sooner.   Different philosophy of 'fixing' it.

I'm guessing he gets cut after week 1 and they try and put on PS. Maybe they thought someone else was going to claim him?

Has a ND QB worked out since Montana?

Steve Buerlein had some okay years and hung around for a pretty long time.

I think they were both unimpressed and (for reasons not disclosed to us) pissed off at him.

If they didn't like his attitude, but thought he could be great, they'd keep him on the roster and would punish him into the ground.  If they thought he sucked but thought he was a decent guy, he would have played half the preseason and got cut.  To never sniff time at all means they thought he sucked and needed to be turned into an example.

Yep, at some point we will find out what the story was.

Yes, I agreed with you.  The comment was about this:

This doesn't count for during games right?

I thought it was established during games is no holds barred.

There’s no need to carry Book on the 53. Should’ve waited and signed Book to the PS and parted ways with Sinnett.

Why would Book sign with the Eagles PS instead of the Saints PS? He knows the New Orleans players. He knows the New Orleans coaches. He knows the New Orleans playbook. He no doubt lives in New Orleans, at least during the season. It's not like the Eagles could force him to sign with us, other than by claiming him on waivers and putting him on the active 53-man roster.

He's mobile. He runs around pretty good back there. But he's not a good quarterback.

Castro-Fields was claimed on Waivers by the Commanders

Yup.

I guess one needs a practice QB and having a guy who knows the system saves time.

Still the Carson string case is one of the more bizarre situations in recent memory.

If one was hiding him for the PS then one would have signed him to PS.

If they think he sucks why not give him a chance to prove it in a pre season game I stead of refusing to even give him any play???

Weird stuff, maybe he slept with Siris or Howie's wife or farts in meetings...🤷‍♂️

The reports were that he sucked in practice and didn't seem to pick up the offense.  I doubt there's any more to it.  They just didn't think he was good.

I wouldn’t care if he did sign with theirs. My point is he doesn’t belong on our 53.

Why? He wasn't claimed on waivers last year either.

Exponential means using the number 'e', not a number having an exponent.

Not always. You are a bit more of a purist than I. I would add that you can have exponential decay, just as you can have an exponential growth rate.

exponential

 adjective

Definition of exponential

1: of or relating to an exponent
2: involving a variable in an exponent10x is an exponential expression
3: expressible or approximately expressible by an exponential functionespecially : characterized by or being an extremely rapid increase (as in size or extent)an exponential growth rate

Another problem with the ignore feature, people cluttering the blog with information that was already posted.

I thought Cain had a shot at the roster after Cleveland but after his questionable effort against Miami I didn't really want any part of him.

Dude gave up on multiple routes at a time when he's fighting for his NFL life, if one can't show a little more effort then why would one expect he would in a game?

I suspect he gets called up at some point for some of his three call ups. Brown tends to be dinged at times.

I hope they use practice squad duty to train Allen to return. Don’t know what his vision is like and I haven’t returned punts since flag football in college, but I know vision is extremely important once you run.  But his ability to shake loose as a gunner against scrubs gives me some hope so that maybe they have a RS when they trade Reagor.

Yes.  I was referring to JR's comment about the exponent not needing to be greater than 1, which I believe was assuming the form I showed.  Maybe I was incorrect.

I'm guessing JR also meant that the exponent doesn't have to be positive, because any positive exponent, even one less than 1, will still increase the value of y as 'x' increases.   Need a negative exponent to decrease the value either way, assuming a positive 'a' value.

Howie Roseman is a fascinating GM.  He was (justifiably) the hero of the 2017 roster; he built that.

His opportunistic trades are fantastic.  His cap management is fantastic.  For a 2-3 year run, every move he made was a disaster, including cap and trades.  And then he did a great job initiating the rebuild.

Many GMs would not have survived that dry spell, even with that SB nearby in the rearview mirror.  But he did...and not many people are regretting it right now.

BUT...when evaluating Howie Roseman...no one says "now there's a guy that drafts well."  Even his 2017 SB team was an anomaly in how heavily the nucleus and the "take it over the top" players were creatively acquired instead of a backbone of solid drafts.
