Nowhere near as priceless as calling someone out, accusing them of using the same hate-filled word that someone else did and then being proved wrong.

Once again....you had the wrong "F" word, sport.  You should have just stayed out of it.  Maybe you'll learn from this.

My favorite F word is , Feckless.

It's just such a fun word to say and it's origin is Scottish which is always cool!

I would LOVE Elijah Moore on this team but if he's frustrated at not getting targets in NY, he won't be happy getting 1 per game here.

This looks weird.

Why ??  Did you say the same when he was in a Washington, Tampa, LA or LV jersey ??

Huh Gif - IceGif

These are garbage.  Actually, CGY, WPG, DAL, NSH, CAR, LV, and LA might be passable.  Interesting that SEA already has a reverse-retro look being a brand-new expansion team, and Captain Highliner is back for the Islanders.  MTL in powder blue -- good Lord.  DET look like bad Christmas sweaters, and San Jose is the new look from your local thrift store for the homeless.

After two years of planning, the NHL unveiled its Reverse Retro jerseys by Adidas for all 32 teams.

He definitely did not take advantage of any of the blitzes in the cardinals game, what was the biggest play? 20 yards? I think on one of the 3000 tight end screens.

Success depends on situation, impossible to know without going through every single game and counting all those pressures. A bad result doesn't have to be a sack. It can be a rushed pass on 3rd and 8 that gets 3, a throwaway, bailing the pocket. Someone out there may have these numbers but on recency bias the cardinals game had more than a few bad results. If I remember right the lions blitzed a decent amount as well, and hurts looked bad in that game also.

We don't get the huge chunk plays as often as we should with how much he is blitzed. We are able to get them normally which is great, but they need to start doing it against the blitz or eventually there's gonna be a game where we don't get the luxury of being of 17+ points early and some team is gonna jump all over us.

I  don't entirely blame Hurts for the performance against the blitz. It's hard to take advantage when the gameplan is to run a screen against blitzes.  It seems like they have done a poor job playcalling and their seem to be problems in the max protect blocking assignments.  On the other hand, Hurts just hasn't punished teams for blitzing.  I am sure he has had opportunities where making the hot read would have led to a big play.  I think his mobility has avoided some sacks and probably raises the floor for the offense.  It's not like he's been a savvy veteran just repeatedly hitting 10 yard outs when teams send an extra man.

Nope, I didn't.  He still looked at home in #11 or #1.   There's a different feel when a player signs for one last hurrah.  Jerry Rice didn't look that weird as a Raider, but as a Seahawk you knew that was it.  Wearing #15 for 3/4 of a season just looks so strange to me.

That's the look of a man stealing money from another franchise.

The RBs need to pickup their blocking assignments better as well. Miles gets very few 3rd down snaps because of this (Bo Wulf citation).

Apparently according to a few sources Hurts doesn't have hot reads in the design of the offense, Siri and Steichen expect him to instead beat it with his feet

At least that was the case 2 weeks ago, and was talked about here in the blog

I'm not sure why anybody would not design hot reads against blitzes, seems like one is just asking for trouble.

Or they don't trust his pre snap recognition and decision making.  Better hope teams don't start to figure that out and take advantage.

What's the over under on how many games he lasts before getting hurt.

I'll take the under...

Seems like the cowboys did, as they would blitz him while also keep him from running, maybe zone blitzes?

I'm not sure haven't re watched the game but I seem to remember more than once the boys blitzing on a known passing down and hurts trying to take off running and instead getting sacked, if there's no hot read and the blitz is right there than not much hurts can do.

Could be steichen And Siri just don't trust hurts to make the right hot read with his arm, which is detrimental to the offense going forward.

Also doesn't help when lane and Dickerson are out.

Looks good. Glad to see him back in the league and in a contending team.  I hope he can stay healthy.

Yes I meant Tyree Jackson. And you’re right about PUP rather than IR.

I liked Calcaterra a LOT when I watched his college highlights after he was drafted. Granted they are highlights so they are designed to make the player look good. But there was just something about the way he moved and the way he went up to get the ball that really impressed me. I think he has the ability to become a really good receiving tight end in this league. Just don’t ask him to block much because I don’t think that’s ever going to be his game.

The fact that his contributions this year are minimal doesn’t concern me. Our starter is a star, and the backup fills the blocking role. He was never going to play much this year anyway and he missed a month with a hamstring so it’s been a slow start for him.

And you can’t waive him so that you can put him on your practice squad because he’ll never make it to the practice squad. He’d get claimed quicker than you can say Casey Toohill.

Calcaterra has potential as a receiving TE, though Jackson's upside is higher, but not sure what he'd contribute this year. Neither is even a good blocking H-back at this point, much less as an in-line TE, so they'd be useless as TE1 in the run game and limited in pass protection.

Neither can replace Stoll, who is a legitimate in-line blocking TE and has shown he can make plays when the defense ignores him.

He's not a stiff as a receiver, just not as good as the other two.
