Burns could contribute this year and help this team win a Championship.  We don't know what the Saints pick will be and there's no guarantee that the pick would yield a player at the same level as Burns.  The bust rate for first round picks is at about 40% and I think the pro-bowl rate is around 30%.  If you trade for Burns, the chances that he doesn't succeed is dramatically lower than any first round pick. There is a cost control but I think the cap hit is worth the player.

Would have to be an elite rusher for that and i dont put burns in tier 1. Nice player. Not foundational to me

Dudes been retired since 2019

Guys, I'm done playing in the NFL. Thanks to everyone for the opportunities but consider this my official retirement.

I still think the biggest move the Eagles could make is trading for a RB. This OL, run scheme, and threat of Hurts running make the current RBs look better than they are. You bring an actual stud RB here? Gonna make it brutal for defenses to stop.

Stud RBs cost money, and that cost rarely matches value.

Well if you're done I'm done then too.  It's been a good run.  The league just won't be the same without you in it.

Quit quoting me, since you have to report everything.  Put me back on ignore you Fing beta.

I've never really understood the beta thing... even in wolves the idea of an alpha has been proven wrong/outmoded. So now I come at it like software when someone declares themselves an "alpha". As in insecure, full of bugs, etc. I know you didn't do that, so I'm not applying that to you, just when I see someone call someone else a beta, I'm assuming it's based off that outdated modality.

Eh "stud" was probably an exaggeration. "Above average" or most accurately "better runner than Miles Sanders" would be more apt.

I'm seeing a lot of trade deadline talk about them going out and getting a high priced guy. To me, you get Damien Harris and Jerry Hughes, and you're majorly upgrading at a reasonable cost.

I  think Miles Sanders has done a really fine job and we don’t need to seek an improvement at RB, but an extra RB to help share carries would be good

They don't need a "stud" RB, they could use a full sized short yardage back who can catch and pass block.

Doesn't have to be a game changer, give me a 5'11 220 type who can hit the right hole and pick up blitzers.

Jeff Mclane and Zach Berman were pretty adamant that the coaches didnt call 3/4 of them, but that was Hurts checking into those plays when he saw the blitz and that was Hurts' quick dump off.

Also sounded like the coaches wanted him to sit in the pocket and see if we could hold up to the blitz and make a big throw that Hurts apparently didnt want to try.

Given the shaky blocking, and the inability of the RBs to stop blitzers, can't blame him.

@Iggles_Phan gonna need our baseball chats during the game. Didn’t have it in game 2 look what happened

Let’s :phil:hucking go!

Not sure what your obsession is with damien Harris?

He's not quite as explosive as sanders And like Sanders he's not much of a receiver.

Sanders has played pretty well this year so far after a pedestrian year last year

I think harris would be an uograde over Boston scott on paper  but itber than that don't think he's much if at all better than Sanders.

Hughes might be ok as a rotational piece, not sure how many snaps he's getting in houston and if he'd be ok with a limited role here

Graham has played really well in his limited snaps.

If anything I'd be looking for safety help, could always use another DT as an upgrade over Tui, not sure theres anything out there, teams dont give away young good DTs for nothing

Had high hope for milton williams but he's been invisible.

If either epps or CJG go down the next man up is Wallace and that's a problem.

I just don't think another RB is going to move the needle much unless that RB were a huge difference maker and again teams arent just giving those guys away.

I expect the eagles let sanders walk as he'll want a bigger contract and sine stupid team will give it to him at which case the eagles can draft another RB in Rd 2-5

He really just swings at everything. Harper  hitting into that DP might have saved musgrove from a big inning.

Lol at "obsession." Harris is a better runner down to down than Sanders is. Of course Sanders is more explosive, but he's just not consistently reliable when the going gets tough. This is getting covered up by the factors I mentioned above. You think Hurts continuing to take hits is sustainable?

I haven't studied Harris in pass pro, but I'm guessing he's significantly better there than what the Eagles currently have. That's also a need.

Hughes is 34, playing for the Texans on a small contract. He already has 4 sacks this year. You're getting value if he's playing the role originally set for Derek Barnett.
