Probably not. Likely getting him this inning then Alvarado and Domínguez to finish out the last 3 innings.

Yup Phillies defensive lapses gonna cost them. 5 errors in last 4.5 games. At some point being that bad of fielding will cost you.

Im not saying its over based on whats happening now, but as someone who doesnt really follow- what are their avenues for improving next year?

Are they going to be losing anyone? 

Can they improve or maintain same offense while getting better in the field? And can they ever do anything about this damn pitching situation?

It’s already cost them. 2 runs tonight are directly correlated to just routine plays. It easily should be 3-0 

hoskins is entering the last year of arbitration. He’s likely back. He’s a massive hole at first.  I wish i had the tweet he’s one of the worst fielding first basemen in the league based off analytics. Their outfield gets better once harper gets his elbow fixed and they don’t have to play castellanos and schwarber in the field every day. 

segura is likely gone. They are supposedly going all in on trea turner or someone like bogerts who are better hitters and upgrades defensively. 

their pen would be better but knebel got hurt in august and is done for the year. He turned the corner and was really good before the injury. So their 7-9 inning were settled. Problem is he’s a FA and Robertson too. They need to address it in FA. 

phillies have no. 1 pitching prospect in Andrew painter however it’s unlikely he starts the year at the mlb level. Frankly i thought in September they’d call him up use him out of the pen a couple times and do what the rays did with price in 08

Yeah. By rights, Padres should have no runs.

And Phillies could very well have more than 3. Who knows if they could have got more that inning if the idiot doesnt get himself picked off.

I would go one more inning with Eflin.  As a starter, his endurance should be more than one inning.  Keep Alvarado and Dominguez on hold until they are clearly needed.
