I think they should've taken that deal. They have a lot of work to do. Burns is a good player but will get paid heavily very soon. Two firsts could've gone a long ways in fixing the team.

Based on success of picks, they could hit one and the other could bust.  Then you are back where you started.

You could think you nailed both, and end up with a Barnett and a bust, so you are worse off.

Burns is a stud, you build around him.

Also the picks from teams that would want to acquire Burns would likely be in the mid- to late-twenties.

Not an ideal place to find one, let alone two studs.

Exactly, you are not turning Burns into Will Andersen, you are turning him into the 4th best edge rusher in the class.

Poor DJ moore. Gonna wind up playing his whole career with crap at Qb

They just have a lot of building to do. Do they even have a QB of the future? Those are high quality assets that gives you way more flexibility with options; you can be creative by either trading, moving around the board, acquiring players, trading for the following year... The situation that franchise is in I just think they were better off. Burns isn't DeMarcus Ware or Von Miller at 25 running around out there either. Very nice player, I would love to have him but I think just a tad overhyped if they're scoffing at two 1st's. It's not often a deal like that comes to your doorstep.

AJ Brown and Devonta Smith are currently making the best of it…

Like Joe Davis said, cover next year's media guide.

Don't buy into the BS. That was a Panthers insider putting that so called news out for Adam to write to get teams to up the price. Don't buy it one bit. Doesn't matter either way, I wouldnt want him at any cost of a first rounder and have to pay him a massive deal next year. We have too many contracts that need to be extended already.

Hurts is no where close to what moore is having to play with since 2019: Moore has had it really bad.

cam Newton (got cam’s last good year his rookie season and then his crap years)

taylor heinicke

Kyle Allen

will grier

Teddy bridgewater

pj walker

 Sam darnold

baker mayfield

jacob eason

Wonder what Bradley Chubb would cost in a trade considering he’s an upcoming free agent. I think he’s a more realistic edge rusher than Burns for the Eagles at this point.

Love to see the Phillies lose.  The sooner they disappear from any sports radio talk and it goes to full on Eagles and Sixers the better.

The perfect results would be

Carolina Panthers over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Las Vegas Raiders over Houston Texans
Detroit Lions over Dallas Cowboys
Denver Broncos over New York Jets
Cleveland Browns over Baltimore Ravens
Washington Commanders over Green Bay Packers
Pittsburgh Steelers over Miami Dolphins
Chicago Bears over New England Patriots
Jacksonville Jaguars over New York Giants
Seattle Seahawks over LA Rams

Goofy post.  Most of this games have zero implication on anything related to the Eagles.

I probably wouldn’t trade away burns if i were Carolina. Their defense isn’t the issue. It’s actually good enough to win games. Really the 3 biggest issues the panthers have is they need a Qb, need to fix the oline and find a new HC that knows what he’s doing. I feel like this has been Carolina’s issues the last 3 years though so who knows if they fix those problems. That said they also created a void of talent at the skill position. Besides DJ moore there’s really to write home about. Then again FA i think could change that quickly.

Assuming that would be picks in separate drafts — a 2023 1st and 2024 1st — I could see either the Eagles or Chiefs offering that.  A lot would depend on cap room.  I noticed an article that asked the question whether the Eagles could afford both Hurts and Burns.  Even if Hurts is given an extension this offseason it wouldn’t kick in until 2024.

I don't think they were offered two 1st's.

Burns is a nice player but it's not like he's an Aaron Donald or Micah Parsons type of player.

If an actual team offered two 1st's for Burns they are idiots.

Haha hey pot meet kettle

The Bad News: The Eagles aren't playing, on Bye Week.

The Good News: The Phillies are one game away from the World Series and are playing in the Eagles timeslot on a Sunday.

False.

These games have implications on this season playoff seeding and potential playoff opponents, 2023 schedule, and most importantly the draft.

You just don't get it.

IMO Burns is JUST outside the Parsons/Watt/Boss/Garrett etc tier or EDGE rusher. Which is to say he's still very very good. Plus at his age and with better talent around him there's plenty of optimism that he could enter that category in the near future.

At a premium position and his age unless I'm not convinced I can extend him, it would take a lot for me to move him if I'm Carolina. If I'm the Eagles I don't think 2 firsts+ for a guy I have to give a monster contract is a good use of resources.
