  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

IMO Burns is JUST outside the Parsons/Watt/Boss/Garrett etc tier or EDGE rusher. Which is to say he's still very very good. Plus at his age and with better talent around him there's plenty of optimism that he could enter that category in the near future.

At a premium position and his age unless I'm not convinced I can extend him, it would take a lot for me to move him if I'm Carolina. If I'm the Eagles I don't think 2 firsts+ for a guy I have to give a monster contract is a good use of resources.

Especially when you already have Sweat and Reddick making almost $15 apy each

What implication do the following games have on the Eagles?

Las Vegas Raiders over Houston Texans
Denver Broncos over New York Jets
Cleveland Browns over Baltimore Ravens
Pittsburgh Steelers over Miami Dolphins
Chicago Bears over New England Patriots

I'll use small words.  We own the Saints first round pick in 2023.  We want those teams to have gooder records than the Saints.

Should be hoping for the Texans to beat the Raiders then because the Texans are not finishing the year with a better record than the Raiders.

BAD TEAM WIN, HIGH US PICK

No, the Texans are awful, they aren't going to finish ahead of the Saints, but the Raiders have a shot to. The Saints will be better than the Panthers and Texans at a minimum, need to abandon hope on those ones.

OK.  Let's discuss.  If we truly believe that the Texans are the lesser team, then we don't want them to steal a win from the Raiders, whom we want to have a better record than the Saints.

Gooder is not a small word.

That's one way to look at it.  It's all a bit too early to be looking at every game like this though, more than half of the season is left.  Really just need to hope the Saints can keep on losing games and then in the final weeks hone in on tracking other games hoping for out of left field upsets.

Also, the Panthers' record impacts the Saints' strength of schedule.  If the Panthers end up with a horrendous record (which will count twice), then the Saints have a weak SOS, which is the first tie-breaker in draft position.

I think the NFL, as a whole, is really bad this year.  This parity is the result of the old power structure finally aging out.

The Chiefs have arguably the most dominant unstoppable player in NFL history.  They have a historically great offensive coach in AR.  That combination alone, IMO, makes them the SB favorite.  But is the rest of the team really even that good?

The Bills are everyone's favorite juggernaut (excluding our Eagles from the picture for a second)...I still don't trust them in the post-season and I'd be pretty confident that KC would take them down.

Every other 1 loss team in the league actually sucks.

There is enough bad qb out there that defenses finally have a shot again.

The guardians of baseball (whoever they actually are) rigorously study HR/ERA/scoring numbers year to year, broadcast this, and seek to control it.  We hear about HRs being up, down, sideways, and adjustments to the mound and ball to smooth things over.  Feels like this is a discussion point every year.

The data is there for anyone who wants to pick at it, but we don't see that with the NFL.  They don't seem to broadcast it.  Average ppg for the top 5 defenses in 2021 vs 2022 vs 1995.  Average total points scored per game across the NFL.  What is an average offense or a top 5 offense scoring per week now vs 1995?

What the hell are the Rams doing?

Rams are a star-focused franchise.

Going to use the offense/defense rankings for this based on yards since that is typically what's used.

Top 5 Offense in 1995: 26.8 PPG average

Top 5 Offense in 2022: 27.4 PPG average

Top 5 defense in 1995: 17.8 PPG average

Top 5 defense in 2022: 15.7 PPG average

Tbh what are the rams and niners doing giving up that much? I love mccaffrey but he’s got a bunch of miles on him and he’s injury prone. I’m not giving up the picks they did and what he’s gonna get paid going forward for a guy who can’t seem to stay healthy for an entire year anymore. Imo the niners would’ve likely been fine going with Wilson and Mitchell and getting a  back at the deadline like Kareem hunt for less.

What about 2019?  That’s what I’d think of as the peak of pre Covid inflated offense.  That’s closer than I would have thought so far.

It’s been a long strange road for the Phillies, but for the first time in what feels like forever I’m more concerned about baseball on a Sunday in October than football… helps this week is also a bye week like the sports gods had a plan all alongA1B83ECC-76FD-4B36-8E8E-5E0293F1D4D0.gif.af1380aa11f1a895cef4e6ff67b05ae6.gif

So we need the Lions, Jags and Packers to win today so the NFC BEAST would go 0-3 and the Eagles would move up in their bye week.

Birds - 6-0

G Men - 5-2

Boys - 4-3
