This is where I have a tough time relating to many fans. While I consider myself a big fan I wouldn’t put the Eagles in the same category as my family, friends, career, etc.. At the end of the day, my existence has nothing to do with the outcome of the game. It’s always awkward when someone wishes me good luck or congratulates me because of an Eagles game.

I mean no offense and I don’t have kids but I could not imagine a Super Bowl being up there with a birth of a child or milestone career achievement. Not even close.

Tom Brady disagrees...

A lot of it doesn’t have to do with just the Eagles winning the Super Bowl. A lot more is tied into memories and experiences with friends and family and bonding over the team, that the eventual win felt so much more important.

He’s not a fan. It’s his identity and all he knows

Back to football for a moment. Is anyone else annoyed that the Bucs lost today? Naturally I hate them, but I also recognize that we need some team from that division (other then the Saints) to pull away. I’d hate for an eight win Saints team to win the division and make the playoffs. Hell, I don’t even want them in the hunt for the division in the closing weeks.

As bad as they’ve played, the Saints are only a game out of first. And I also don’t think they’re as bad as most Eagles fans seem to think.

We really didn’t get much help today. I guess Washington winning was good.

Speaking of celebrating, I still kick myself with regret for the Eagles parade, because while it was a good time, I had gone like 36 hours with no sleep, I was already a little sick so I had the chills, I went underdressed like an idiot. I couldn’t stop shivering the entire parade, like my teeth were chattering and I’m someone who usually runs warm. When I got home I just collapsed and woke up like 10 hours later. So I feel like I wasn’t able to enjoy it as much as I could. Since then I won’t make those same mistakes again, if the Eagles ever get us another parade. Hopefully this year.

2008 was amazing. Me and my buddy worked in VA so we drove up for the weekend. We went to the Flyers game the night before and Jeff Carter won it in OT. (beat the Islanders)

We were in the Linc for the celebration before the celebration at Citizen's Bank.

They could not give 76ers tickets away for later that day so it was first come first serve for like 10 bucks a ticket so we were maybe 12 rows off the court.

The Sixers beat the Knicks by 29.

Good times.

I also get that it probably means more to you due to the fact you grew in Philly (I’m assuming) and going to games since they played at Franklin field

South Jersey. Half hour away.

Falcons will win it.

Brady’s act has to be wearing beyond thin in that locker room at this point.  He tried to ditch the team in the offseason to jump to the Dolphins (no idea why he wasn’t suspended along with Ross for that), he "retires”, then un-retires only upon getting the head coach removed from his position, blows off most of training camp, then saunters back in right before the last preseason game.  He also missed a Saturday recently.  There must have been quite a few players there who asked silently "what are you even doing here??”

If there was another decent team in that division the Bucs would be roadkill.  It’s beyond dysfunctional what’s going on there.

Tua lowering his head into oncoming defenders on several occasions now.  Seems like a questionable choice.

Jeez. Do the Eagles hang 50 on PIT next week?

This feels so gross but let’s go Yankees

7 games with extra innings with the Yankees getting by.

Im just now realizing that having the Sunday night game, and them coming back on a Thursday night after the bye, was almost as short as a bye week could possibly be. Only think worse would have been playing on Monday night before it.

We got about a half of a bye week.

The Lions are sort of the new Browns.  The rest of the nfl community so badly wants to say they are heading in the right direction, making good decisions.

They aren’t.  They’ve got the inside track on the #1 pick.

Steelers game is next Sunday. Texans game the week after is Thursday.

I think they will pick somewhere 2 to 4. The problem is they will really want to tank but then they will see Rodgers' face and have to beat them once or twice.

I liked the idea of a healthy Lions team later this year when the rookie WR is in the lineup. They have not been healthy and they keep doing things like fumbling at the goal line. (the Jags did the same thing today)

That homerun is up there with Philly special, Brandon graham strip sack. I don’t think we can comprehend right now how unbelievably clutch that was and how lucky we are the padres decided to pitch to him.

100% agreed. That HR will be talked about forever.

Remember when people in this blog were big on Picket and really wanted him?

I am not sure about bloggers, but Howie Roseman watched him play in person.

Jets remind me of the Eagles last year.  They can beat bad and average teams.  If they somehow get into the playoffs they will get destroyed.

Well that's good.

Thought people kept talking about playing Thursday.

Lots of questionable teams with good records this year. Lots of teams beating themselves. Really strange to see the Rams, Packers, Bucs, and Chargers look so pedestrian too..

Watching these playoffs, one of the saddestthings in sports is now lame new Yankees stadium is. Compared to the old Yankees stadium, it went from a college football game atmosphere to a WNBA arena. That place sucks. It has no heart, soul, it isn’t loud, and has no atmosphere. I have no extra draw to watch playoff games in that stadium.

So i just heard that Harper’s Homer today came 29 years to the day that joe Carter hit the homer to end the 93 World Series. What are the odds.
