The one we have is pretty studly. Its a shame so many people have been deluded by the media to not appreciate him.

But Id take those Barkley, Zeke, Jonathan Taylor types in round 1.

Also depends on the draft class. This year Im not in favor of any in round one even though Bijan is so hyped up. The high end talent at RB is too deep in this draft to justify it.

I like Sanders well enough.  But there's a difference between good RBs, and RBs that can straight up win games for teams. Barkley is that for the Giants and Chubb for the Browns this year. Henry and Gurley are examples from a few years back. We haven't had a guy like that since McCoy and Westbrook.

Which is fine. Gotta spend resources where they're needed the most and a guy like Sanders is certainly good enough to do damage in this offense. But it would be fun to have a true elite RB again.

What's the absolute highest you'd draft an RB?  I'm talking a high end RB prospect ala Saquan Barkley or Ezekiel Elliott when they came out.

I miss having a stud RB. I know it's not happening/worth it but man would it be nice to have a Barkley-type on this team.

2nd round is the sweet spot

Second round but always depends on the board

not sure i see the value of the fifth yr using a late first on an rb

The Bucs fall was inevitable the moment that Arians kept the band together; they needed to move on from some players and are paying for it - like the Birds did.  The Pack ignoring WR for years caught up with them; a hall of famer can't polish up 2 rookie WRs, esp when he's off having adventures in South America in the off-season.  Still a long way to go, but there is no OMG powerhouse team in the NFC at the moment.

Yeah there is.

So the Saints have the fourth worst record in the league and are a game out of first place in their division.

If they end up 7-10ish, they could draft 9th or 19th depending on the Bucs final record

If GB, TB, LAR, or SF was playing like we are, everyone would be talking about them being an absolute powerhouse. But because it’s us it’s not the same

Don’t think so. The Cards were 7-0 last year and nobody thought them to be a powerhouse.

Plus our team as currently constituted and playing is a LONG way away from being considered a powerhouse. They can be beat, which is pretty obvious. We’ve had our share of lucky breaks and need to seriously improve if want anything more than a division championship.

5th year option is nice because it gets you close to that 27ish age season where RBs usually start to trend down. But contract wise agreed that's better saved for a more premium position.

If Christian Saquon Elliott can stay healthy, consistently lead the league in yards from scrimmage, carry us to a SB victory, walk after five for top dollar elsewhere, and we end up with the highest third-round comp pick?  Then I'll think about it.

Jacksonville game come to mind?

134 yards rushing, 2 TD’s in cold rain and wind.

This. Sanders is not a top 5 back, but the argument can be made for top 10. He's on pace for very nice stat season, provided he can stay healthy...which is the biggest knock on him.

Great, that's 1 game. He's a good back. But can you really argue he's a top 5 guy in the NFL?

Not yet based on his injury history, etc.  I think he has the potential to be among the better NFL RB’s if he can stay healthy and play a 16-17 game season.

Interesting scenario, the Eagles play in Houston next Thursday night.

If there is a WS game six, it would be Friday night in Houston.

Would the FO let players stay behind (e.g. Kelce) to go to game six?

Yes, and Sirianni would be there with them.  Howie would as well.  Especially since it is 10 days until their next game.

Sanders is in the 16ish range for me. He’s not a complete back, and also he has the benefit of running behind an elite o-line as well as playing with Hurts which everyone says is a huge advantage to the run game. He has a lot going in favor for him. If he leaves, I think he’ll look pretty pedestrian.

Football for sure. By a mile. Nothing is close. Agreed on hockey second. Then baseball. Then NBA.

The Eagles winning the Super Bowl was probably the happiest moment of my life.

Definitely football for me too. But I'm almost saying Stanley Cup now. Because I've seen my Eagles and Phils win in my lifetime. I really want to see a Stanley Cup. But eagles are always first.

Tankathon's Consensus player ranking database ("This consensus big board of each player's overall ranking for the 2023 NFL Draft was compiled using 43 Big Board(s), 226 1st Round Mock Drafts, and 80 Team Based Mock Drafts") has the RBs ranked as follows.  I personally would seriously consider Charbonnet at the end of the 2nd Round and Corum in the 3rd and Brown in the 4th.

FWIW I think Sanders is the tier of RB the Eagles should be drafting. Round 2-3 guys with good measurables, but don't need to be/can't a full season workhorse for some reason. He's a good RB who can flash high end production intermittently. Which is good.

I'm just daydreaming about what a true top 3 type elite RB would do here with our OL and defenses having to account for Hurts running.

There won't be a game 6.  Phils in 5.  🙃

It was a rush to experience Games 3-5 of the NLCS within 48 hours.  It had been over a decade, so I had forgotten about the pace of the MLB playoffs.  It was fun to feel that excitement on consecutive days.

The NFL is weekly by design.  But for some reason the NBA has decided to stretch out their playoffs to the point where you're not even sure there's a game when you wake up in the morning.

• More calls poured in Tuesday, with some teams just fishing—offering a third-rounder or a fourth-rounder to see whether a discount was in the offing. The Broncos and Eagles were among those teams (both have GMs who like to investigate pretty much everything). The day clarified who was really in and who wasn’t.
