Is it, though?

Or should we just move on with Driscoll at this point?  Dillard has been inconsistent in about every way, and if he has value Id trade him

Can you really say Dillard is head and shoulders ahead of Driacoll for backup LT??  I dont know

Yes.

I’d settle for hunt cause i think they’d off load him cause i don’t see them extending him after this year. I rather have Johnson due to wear and tear is less with good upside. The price the niners and rams were willing to pay for mccaffrey us going to look worse when other teams get solid/good backs for better value. I love cmc but I’m not laying that for an injury prone  rb owed a good amount of money and a bunch of miles on him.

I agree.  I can see Driscoll being Vaitai 2.0 moving forward.  Swing tackle, even backup guard when needed.

What about that other game when Dillard wasnt so good?

And no Im not talking about the RT game.

But it is part of my point.  Dillard is: not versatile, oft-injured, inconsistent (on and off the field), and firmly behind Mailata on the depth chart.

If the Eagles could get a legit passrusher, it would be 100% worth it to me to give up Dillard who only serves a small role here.

Our 4 man passrush is not consistent enough to win the SB and it will have to be.

You just keep Dillard at this point unless it’s a crazy stupid good offer.

As far as Driscoll, I’d rather he be the backup G vs swing tackle.

How many times has Mailata been injured in his short career?

A name to remember is Brett Toth.  I haven't heard any updates on Toth or Tyree Jackson but the team was high on both last year.  Toth has the athletic ability to be a swing tackle.  I think he needs some extra weight but if Dillard can bring back a decent player I would keep my eye on Toth taking over his role.

Let me ask you this. What was Nick Foles role on the 2017 team the first twelve weeks of the season? Would you not in fact suggest that it was a "small role"? He was never expected to play.

Depth doesn't always seem important until you actually need it.

Also, I'm not sure which Dillard game you're referencing in your first line. Are you talking about his rookie year or last year?

Jack Driscoll has had his own injury concerns too. He was put on IR three times in his first two seasons.

The dude is injured as a backup

I gotta say it. I don't think Toth is any good. I'm not talking about the fact that he's been cut twice already in his career. I'm saying that after watching him play in real games for the Eagles, he just doesn't look like anything other than a deep scrub. I would be terrified if he were on the field at a meaningful time in a meaningful game.

Shame. Dude was on his way towards OROY

Well Mailata is the starter so that's why I asked

He’s missed games every year of his career. Which isn’t totally uncommon for his position and size. Off the top of my head I knows he’s had back issues, a concussion, something with his knee last year and now a shoulder.

I get what youre saying but Brandon Grahams strip sack won that game, too.  We need a passrush.

And Dillard last year was OK.  He wasnt horrible which we all thought he would be.  I think him playing above those terrible expectations has inflated his value a little bit.

Im seriously concerned about our lack of a passrush.

FWIW, ESPN analytics has us at 3rd overall with a 52% pass rush win rate

I think every team in the NFL with more than 2 wins has been "linked" to Robert Quinn at this point. So far I've seen Eagles, Dallas, KC, Patriots, and Rams.

But it feels like one game it's 75% the next game 25%

We didnt even come close to Cooper Rush until we started blitzing and he got rattled

There have been a couple games where it left a lot to be desired.  If we're serious about making a SB push--which I understand probably wasnt a legitimate goal of the FO to start the year--I think we'll need more than Reddick, Graham, and Sweat.

Our DL feels thinner than it has in years.

Scouring the trade deadline articles online, an interesting name that came up is Matt Ioannidis. If Carolina is willing to part ways for a late draft pick, his base salary is only $1 million this year. Would be a nice depth add at DE/DT without breaking the cap bank or draft pick arsenal.

Agreed on both points.

I would rather they add someone else at safety.

Yep. exactly the type of player we should be looking for. Productive but reasonable cost. We want help this year, without taking away from the potential of our draft haul next year.
