I don’t think anyone said he’d be as good as westbrook. They said the chiefs should use him like westbrook cause he was a really good pass catcher out of LSU and Andy had a bunch of success with westbrook who was a great receiving back. Frankly Andy continues to not use him in that way more often when that imo is his best attribute is a pass catching back. I’d argue Pacheco is a better in between the tackles runner.

I remember during and before that draft the hot takes flying that he'd be an even better Westbrook.

Veech said he was better

Two years ago Dave Dombrowski, the architect of this team ,thought he was out of the team-building business. He was in Nashville, trying to attract a future expansion team, when John Middleton called. Just 23 months later, Dombrowski is about to take his fourth team to a World Series ... the Marlins, the Tigers, the Red Sox, and the Phillies.

So Colts traded a 1st plus for Wentz, then traded for Ryan, then gave him $25M guaranteed this year and $12M guaranteed next year, just to make Sam Ehlinger the starter Week 8. This has to be Irsay meddling because I can't imagine Ballard is that bad of a GM.

Ballard got decent return for Wentz, especially considering how Irsay devalued him.  Of course, the Commode Doors are probably rethinking that trade.  I almost hope Heinicke keeps winning creating a QB controversy in DC.  Now if only Dak can keep struggling against better teams than the Lions.

It's kind of crazy when you think about how some announcers just pull stuff like this off on the fly and it's such a good name it will stick forever. Much better than my "you gotta be f'ing kidding me".

If GB, TB, LAR, or SF was playing like we are, everyone would be talking about them being an absolute powerhouse. But because it’s us it’s not the same

Yeah there is. :Eagle_smiley:

This team is good to very good, a powerhouse, it is not (yet). Too many questions about it, for me anyway but a lot to be positive about and fewer negatives than there have been.

Trying to read some test results online for a blood test. I got a number that says <25. That means less than 25, right?

sounds fatal -sorry to hear.

So we got one which was the GM drafting him. They always gas up guys they are drafting so I’m not surprised.

I don’t remember that. I remember people saying he can be like westbrook was for Andy given his skill set and talent wise as a first rounder coming out he was considered a better prospect than westbrook when he came out.

I would’ve said it’s gone bananas at the bank so yours is better than mine

Burrow had the best take on it all. They all know the risks, they know the short and long term risks. They are paid very well to take those risks, and they do so knowingly. It’s the nature of the beast

The "I'm gonna sue the league once I retire and run out of money" ex-players would not like Burrow's take at all.

I remember that was basically the laziest comp of the draft cycle. And then Westbrook even had to comment on it, in particular the Reid quote

"I get this message on Friday morning that Andy Reid said that this kid that hasn’t played a down in the NFL is better than me already,” Westbrook said. "It took me years to perfect my game, and it took me years to get better at my craft. And this young kid that hasn’t played a down in the NFL is better than me already. It’s baffling.”

Good god, imagine having this guy...................

That was a comp. No one said he was ever going to be as good as westbrook in the nfl besides Andy and veach. And frankly all gms and coaches gas up their draft picks. The comp was that cause of his ability to receive the ball out of the backfield and he did it at LSU against SEC comp. So i understand why they thought he could be westbrook for them. Let’s be honest CEH after that natty title game and the season he had was widely considered a much better prospect coming out than westbrook.

Well, Reid did. And after he did there were a lot of hot take artists parroting it. I remember it pre-draft too, just probably no one really worth relevance.

Crazy how it seemed every AFCW team had a legitimate shot at the playoffs and a few weeks later they all suck besides the Chiefs.

Reid and veach did. Went back and edited what i wrote. However i expect reid and veach to do it. They are a GM taking a RB in the first round and we’ve seen the eagles philosophy on RBs taken that high. So I’m sure they were hyping him up to sell it as they really liked him and took him as a first rounder.

I liked CEH coming out. He was considered a better prospect than westbrook when he came out as he didn’t have injury concerns. Also he did it against the highest level of competition of SEC, was a very good receiving back at LSU and in the national championship game. Tbh i don’t think the chiefs actually utilize him to his strengths very well and he’s had multiple injuries his first two years. He should be better for what they evaluated him as. Granted he’s not the no. 1 weapon like westbrook in the prime of his career was (outside of 2004 and the end of his eagles tenure. westbrook’s first year he was more of a returner so im not referring to that when i say prime). To start his career CEH was competing with Hill and kelce but now he should be better with hill gone and they still go committee with McKinnon and pacheco

I feel like the chargers every year have a ton of injuries. Jackson got hurt yesterday too and was carted off

All World Series games announced to start at 8:03

Put in Foles you cowards!  I hope he's starting by the Eagles game at least.

Plus their coach with his way too aggressive playcalling

Took DC at +4 this morning and already down to +2.5

So I guess they did release him with an injury settlement and just never updated their roster page.

We're dead last in kickoff return average this year. By 2.6 yards from the next team.

Maybe Ward can help us crack into the top 30!
