Speaking of the Steelers...

The seats next to mine at the Eagles game belong to a ticket broker, so there are always different people every game. Usually Eagles fans but occasionally visiting fans. For example, there were Vikings fans next to us for the championship game five years ago. When the guy left late in the third quarter, he was literally crying as he walked past and wished us good luck in the Super Bowl. I enjoyed that. Him crying.

For the Cowboys game last week, it was all Turds fans. Ugh. Fortunately they were decent dudes, especially the guy sitting next to me. They were actually from Dallas. High school football coaches who like to travel to a single away game every season. They knew football and weren't obnoxious. So it was okay. At one point the guy asked me about the Eagles-Steelers rivalry. How big of a rivalry is it?  I had to explain to the guy that since they're in the other conference, they're not a rival at all. We only play them every four years and they only come to the Linc every eight years. Sure we play them a lot in preseason but who really cares?

To me they're just another team. They're about five hours away, but to me that may as well be a million. They are not on my radar at all.

Do other people actually feel different? Maybe if you live in central-ish Pennsylvania and had to grow up with a ton of Steelers fans, I guess. I mean, yeah, sure, I don't like the Steelers and I generally root against them. But that's different than them being an actual rival of the Eagles.

I just don't consider them rivals.

When I was younger I considered them rivals, just for the "who’s the best PA team” but that’s also when both teams were really strong and the likelihood of us meeting in the super bowl was always high. I really thought we were going to play them in that Super Bowl in 2009 when they beat the Cards. Would of been a helluva game.

I don’t consider them rivals anymore, but they are still a team I get more pleasure/disappoint compared to other teams if we win or lose against them. Patriots are the only team in AFC I look at as our rivals.

Grew up north of Harrisburg and lived in Pittsburgh for 4 years. Also went to grad school in western PA. Since I moved from Pittsburgh in 2017 I really don’t dislike them anymore but at the time I only disliked the Cowboys more. They hate everything Philly. Week 3 in 2016 was perhaps the happiest I’ve ever felt after a regular season win.

A friend of mine who’s a Steelers fan had extra tickets to the Steelers/Chargers playoff game (forget what year). I went with him and of course wore an  Eagles hat (not to the game, but around town the night before). I was surprised that Steelers fans cared so much… they really weren’t into it at all. 😅

Agreed. Way down. Like you going down on hpenis down

I’m not going to say we are clearly better than the Chiefs like some are, but there is certainly reason to feel we are on their level as a team (though not at the QB position).

The Eagles are not ‘way down’ from the Bills and Chiefs.  This is the NFL.  The Bills and Chiefs have been great and have been hyped by the media for a longer period of time, but that does not put them way above the birds.  This Chiefs team lost to a team that just benched their QB and seems to be entering tank mode.  The Giants were laughed at 6 weeks ago but now sit at 6-1.  The Seahawks were laughed at as well, and they were everyone’s pick to finish last in their division where they now sit in 1st place.

It’s a year to year league, and some teams get a lot better or a lot worse in a hurry.

No, they would beat the Chiefs.  You make it abundantly clear how much you want to downplay this team, you do it every week.  Eagles would beat the Chiefs though.  Their defense is not good.  We have a defense that can match up with them.

It’s hilarious that you take him seriously. It’s almost as hilarious as people taking you seriously

The idea that the Chiefs and Bills are on some other level is a joke.

They just have teams that have been together for longer, and are two of the few teams to actually live up to expectations and not collapse so people think theyre awesome

When Buffalo have been confronted with talented teams who have their ish together, its been close games (and the Ravens really dont have their ish fully together because Lamar Jackson)

Same with the Chiefs.  Look at their schedule and show me this powerhouse team.  They beat the Niners who are completely overrated.  The Niners have lost to the Bears, Broncos, Falcons, and Chiefs.  Give me a f'ing break

Eagles are right there with anyone

KC just dropped 44 on the Niners' defense in SF.

Coming out of the bye, I hope the focus wasn't adding new wrinkles. I would prefer their focus to be better execution with the goal of playing consistently through 60 minutes. Get better at the things they do well, and improve on the areas of weakness.  It has been my biggest frustration. I do not think the Eagles beat the Chiefs and Bills, and Cowboys and Giants to a lesser extent, without sustaining 60 minutes of football.

Especially in the 2nd half. I feel they have a good game plan and are able to execute early, but as soon as the other team adjusts they struggle to catch up. They are averaging something like 21 points in the 1st half and 6 points in the 2nd. Week 1 was the only time they put up more than 10 points in the 2nd half. They scored 2 TDs in the 3rd quarter, and did nothing in the 4th while Detroit came back into the game.

Eagles 27, Steelers 19

Should be a game the Eagles win by more, but I think they'll come out a bit flat after the bye.

Bonus -- Bradberry with another INT.

I hope they don't come out flat.  While they've been winning, the offense has a ways to go IMO.  I REALLY want to see them open the passing game up.  Tired of seeing Smith run 5 yard routes.  I want to see the kind of throws Hurts made to Smith against Washington.  Get him deep, get him in space across the middle.  Same with AJ Brown.  Dinking and dunking with those 2 WR is like buying a Ferrari and going 55.

Also, a complete game would be great.

They need to continue to add wrinkles to the plays on film.  Do things that opposing defenses aren't prepared for.

And when the Eagles have been confronted with Trevor Lawrence, a Cardinal team in disarray, and Cooper Rush they have been close games.

The massive difference at QB give the Bills and Chiefs a massage edge in a head to head matchup with the Eagles.

The 9ers currently rank 3rd yards per game allowed ( after giving up 529 yards to the Chiefs ) and 9th in points allowed ( after giving up 44 )
