Why? And thin out your O-line depth for a 3rd round pick? No thanks. We have no idea what going to happen with Lane Johnson as he has mentioned retirement prior to the start of the season.

We had an OT injury, and Dillard wasnt even available.

Dillard is coming off injury himself.

yes. exactly...

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 33

Steelers 17

Bonus - Reddick with 3 forced fumbles

So you'd trade him away because he's constantly injured?

Andre Dillard will likely not be an Eagle next year. We have Driscoll and Toth coming back. He'll only play LT, so to say to a no on the low-probability that Mailata gets hurt again is bad roster management.

Giving up a 5? Nah. The insurance of Dillard is worth more than that. A 3rd? That's a potential starter next year.

For those who want to try and compare Allen and Hurts

Allen has 1980 passing yards, 17 TD's and completing 66.9% of his passes.

Hurts has 1514 yards, 6 TD's and completing 66.8% of his passes.

And before you jump in with " what about Hurts rushing ", here is his total offense

1807 yards and 12 TD's.  Both lower then Allen's passing stats only, and Allen has 257 rushing yards and 2 TD's.

The gap between Allen and Hurts is HUGE.

Yeah but if hurts had diggs and Gabe Davis instead...😒

Not a big fan of Driscoll at LT in case Mailata got hurt but if one can get a 3rd for Dillard for half a season I'd do that in a second...

If someone offers a 3rd, hell yes.

I'd be far less motivated to deal Dillard if he could play either tackle position, but he can't. To me, that limits his value IMO. A 3rd is the point I'd start considering it though, OT depth is obviously important. Any more than a 3rd I'd definitely do it. That said, I don't see a team offering that.

Yeah a 4th at best is all I imagine being offered. Don't see him being traded and that's probably not a bad thing either.

Guess it depends on what we would get if we let him walk in FA in terms of comp pick. If he can get us a 3rd round comp pick then trading him for a 3rd rounder they essentially value moving up higher into the 3rd for THIS draft over his depth he provides.

I can't see him getting a 3rd round comp pick. Terron Armstead signed a 5 year $75M deal this past offseason and netted a 4th.

True. He isnt getting paid that much and he is getting no playing time. Maybe that 3rd rounder is actually good value after all.

What did Big V net for the Eagles as a comp? He's probably the best comparison.

The Eagles were granted a pair of sixth-round selections – No. 223 and No. 224 overall after losing cornerback Ronald Darby, linebacker Kamu Grugier-Hill, running back Jordan Howard, and tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai in free agency.

I’ve said this for a while, you were never going to get 2nd round value for Andre Dillard. There are multiple reasons for that. First, he hasn’t shown to be durable. His rookie year he had an injury that was minor, his second year he missed the entire year with an injury, and this year he missed weeks with an injury. Second, he has never played a full 17 game season as a starter. So no one knows if he’s capable of being a long-term starter in the league based off injury and performance over 17 games. Third, because he only plays left tackle have to find a team in need of a left tackle. So your pool becomes smaller or have to find a team willing to move their LT to RT for a guy with durability concerns.  Add on for your team he can only play left tackle so if lane Johnson goes down, you have to move Jordan Mailata over to right tackle to insert him at LT. We’ve seen Jordan Mailata play right tackle. he’s not nearly as good as he is at left. so if that happens you’re downgrading at right tackle and downgrading at left tackle because Dillard isn’t as good as mailata at left tackle.

That said I would only trade Dillard if they got a third round pick or if it was a fourth round pick which easy conditions that could move up to a third round pick and maybe even 2nd with basically impossible conditions to meet. Otherwise you’re better off just keep him as depth at this point because you’re probably only gonna get a 4th round compensatory pick when he signs as a free agent this offseason

Bucs definitely losing tomorrow.

Go get Da'Ron Payne

Vaitai would have been worth a fifth, but our signing of Hargrave cancelled that out.

Yeah, go ask a division rival to give up one of their best position players for less than a first round pick.
