His next 2 years on the deal have salaries around 13-14 million. Eagles will convert most of that salary to bonuses and create cap space by creating dead money that youll whine about and look dumb.

Yeah, converting salary to guaranteed money for a 33 year old DE isn't smart.  But Howie painted himself in a corner and HAS to now.  Therefore, like I've often said, his style FORCES the birds to keep older, expensive underperforming players.  Thus the criticism.

Love the guy, and he would make the offense other worldly.  I wonder what  it would do to the locker room vibe, and how it would impact Sanders.  Plus, has some pretty big cap hits coming in 2023 and 2024.

Convert the base to bonus trick... that approach is fine until you have a player that you want to cut and the mortgage comes due (i.e., Alshon).  Lane is always a good candidate barring injury/retirement; Slay's cliff is out there somewhere; Quinn can be a wait and see based on what he does here with the remainder of the season (even a restructure if he's meh).
