I immediately texted my buddies after he did that.  He did a full 360 acting like it was an upper deck hr and that ball barely made it over the fence.

Im a bachelor again.  Came home. Cleaned while watching the game. Made dinner. Ate dinner. Did laundry. Made my buddy dinner who stopped by.  Did the dishes. Drank 8 beers. Got high. Cleaned more.  Hung up laundry. Packed lunch for work. Laid out clothes for tomorrow work.

I am so freaking wired. I was like a meth head digging up arrow heads in the yard. Just had a whiskey during post games.

This is the life.  Holy hell what a month. What a month.

Welcome back old friend.  You should really post more around here.

Man, what an opportunity to take a 2-0 lead. Game 2 has been their kryptonite, need Big Wheeler to come through.

That last two innings I looked like Garcia, just standing up, rocking back and forth in front of the tv.

I didn't sit for the last 90 minutes.  Absolutely true.

Absolutely. I already thought the decision to go with Nola was smart. After tonight, IF Wheeler is his usual lights out tomorrow and they come home up 2-0, Rob Thomson deserves to win the Senate seat as a write in. I trust his decision making over either of those other two mooks running.

I couldn't watch the bottom of the tenth. Played solitaire on the computer for about fifteen minutes, came back and re-watched the top of the tenth, and then just fast forwarded through the bottom of the inning. Saw there were two outs and runners on second and third. Paused the video, then fast fowarded it three minutes and saw the Phillies walking off the field happy. Then I went back to see how they got the final out.

I didn't use to be this way but there's just something about watching the opposing team bat in critical baseball games that make me extremely uncomfortable and nervous. I'm not that way watching football. It's just baseball.

Glad to know I'm not alone.

So the Astros were 65-0 in their last 65 games with a 5 + run lead… 65-1 now

in the WS teams with a 5 run lead were 220-5… now 220-6

What a tone-setting win. They didn’t even get much out of Schwarber and the bottom of the lineup who has come up big for them lately. All really just from the 3-6 hitters which I’d expect to change and have more of a contribution from the other guys throughout the rest of the order.

Their home field advantage at The Bank is real and they feed off of it. I just wanted a split in Houston, but if they can somehow take two down there, that makes those three games at home an even bigger mad house.

Not sure if it was noted earlier, but that was the fifth straight extra-inning game between the Phillies and Astros in the post-season.

The Post Game show on Fox emphasized that very point.  You would have thought A-Rod, Big Papi, and Frank Thomas were Phillies homers.  They positively gushed.

I can't wait to see what Philadelphia jersey Big Papi will sport next.  (see https://bosoxinjection.com/2022/10/22/red-sox-david-ortiz-nlcs-antics-phillie-phanatic-boston-betrayal/  and https://www.prosportsextra.com/david-ortiz-sporting-brian-dawkins-jersey-on-fox-pregame-show/)

Here’s live footage of @LeanMeanGM after the 5th inning.

I don't care if it's going to be in the 40s. We are cranking up the outdoor fireplace with plenty of booze to watch game 1 outside.   The first time we did it was game 3 vs the Padres and watched every game like that since.

Update:

After we got down 5-0, we added a Phillies pumpkin that one of the kids made to the alter.  So I guess that needs to be added to the routine.

Don't tempt me.   Whatever it takes.

A key game to watch today.  Max Duggan's play as TCU's QB is at the top of the list of why it is key.

No. 7 TCU at West Virginia (noon, ESPN/ESPN app)

TCU is getting used to close games. The Horned Frogs are still unbeaten, but three of their last five wins came by one score, and last week's 10-point win over K-State required a huge comeback. They've been playing with fire, but now they get a nice, relaxing game against a reeling opponent, right? West Virginia, coming off of a disastrous 48-10 loss to Texas Tech, is done, right? Kaput? And we're definitely overthinking any sort of trap-game potential of a noon kickoff in Morgantown, right?

If you watched WVU's dreadful performance against Tech last week, you're probably baffled about this game's 7.5-point line. But SP+ and FPI projections average out to just an 8.2-point advantage for TCU. Neal Brown's wobbly Mountaineers have, in their best moments, combined quick and efficient passing with a battering run game. They pushed Virginia Tech around and outplayed a physical Baylor team just two weeks ago. If they establish that physicality against a TCU defense that is solid but unspectacular against the run, things could get weird.

The Mountaineers still have got to stop TCU's passing game, though, and they don't really stop anyone through the air. WVU ranks 122nd in passing success rate allowed and 116th in raw QBR allowed. TCU scored 28 unanswered points against K-State, and the Wildcats have a much better defense than West Virginia, so even a comfortable WVU lead might not be safe until the game's closing moments. But it wouldn't be a total surprise if the wounded Mountaineers made this a battle.

Justin Verlander though is a dough-faced 39 year old who looks 59, and he landed…Kate Upton??

F Pete Davidson, Verlander has outkicked his coverage WAY more.

I would take this woman over Kate Upton
