I'll fully admit I was down on Hurts after the Tampa game. To be fair there was not a lot of improvement shown over the course of last season. THIS year however, I'll fully eat crow and say he has shown huge improvement to me, mostly yesterday. Seeing the deep ball game was huge. And while I was always someone who said "I HOPE he can be the guy but I just don't see it", he has hands down earned that spot these 7 weeks. 100%. I've never been more happy to have been wrong.

Yup, I don't think Mailata has been horrible by any means I just think I like many thought he'd take the next step in his progression and reach pro bowl all pro status but I think at this point he's reached his ceiling and is what he is which while isn't all pro but still an above average starting LT in the league, which is fine.

He's still super athletic and a force in the run game and he'll probably struggle with quick little pass rushers his whole career, and yeah I agree the rugby excuse just doesn't cut it anymore, he's a pro football player.

We've been spoiled by Tra leading into Peters. Expectations for any LT we throw out there are incredibly high due to that continuity of excellence. To think this guy was a 7th rounder who never played football until coming here and becoming an above average LT is nothing short of amazing. I love the dude, and I'm glad he's here.

Me too, I think he's great, plus he's a good locker room guy, good in the community as well and can sing And play the ukulele, what's not to like👍

Not sure if this is even possible (happens more in NBA) but maybe they're trying to acquire him to move to another team... Would also think Greedy Williams would be part of that deal as Miami has needs at CB

I think Mailata has one more step up in improvement. Sometimes one needs to get beat up a few times in order to make that step. Let’s see.

Mailata is a very good LT.  He is not perfect.  He is a force in the run game.  His only apparent vulnerability is a speed rusher when Hurts takes a 7-step drop.

He is a still bargain.

This is what I think too.  He's not a finished product yet.  I don't like seeing him get beat but I think it's still part of the process of him becoming great.  Doesn't give him a pass though.  Getting beat is getting beat.  If teams think speed rushers are his weakness then eventually they'll take advantage of it.

Thrilled to be wrong.  Didn't think he would progress, but he has.  Plain and simple.  Very exciting to watch.
