Nobody, nobody, was more critical of Hurts than I was.

I still am skeptical of his ability to be a sustained, elite passer, regardless of what his QB rating may be through 7 games.  He has, however, been undeniably excellent.

Perhaps more important, though, is that the terms of engagement at QB are changing.  No, it has nothing to do with "next generation" running QBs.  It's more the old generation falling off a cliff, the new generation being mostly busts, and starting QBs becoming prohibitively expensive.  5 years ago, if you didn't have a GOAT qb, you didn't need to show up for week 1.  That's why I held Hurts to that standard.  But it's a different, more wide open NFL right now.

Who the hell is Javelin Guidry and why have we signed him? Cover as Scott is injured?

Cain released too - thought he looked good preseason.

Do we really need another CB?

You know Howie, he loves his corners. Also, depth at corner is always good.

I think this is fair, and we will just have to see how the rest of the season plays out.

If this continues, the contract situation gets very interesting.

I felt bad for the guy because he was severely outgunned, but you gotta do what you gotta do

Zech didn’t see any defensive snaps on Sunday - I’m encouraged by his zone play but not a large enough body of work for me to get a read on what the long-term plan is there. After a rough start Josiah Scott seems like OK backup material. Likely Peter principle situation if these guys get elevated when/if either Bradberry/CGJ/Epps exits in the offseason.

Just catching up on the Blog, and what appears to be JRs funeral.

Except I'm pretty sure he announced he was quitting the board like a week ago? Where were all the eulogies then? Why are all the rats (like t-1000, acenova and their ilk) crawling out of the woodwork now to mourn him?

JR is a big boy, he had the ability to simply ignore 4for4 if he had that much of a problem with him. And that goes for everybody, if you don't like what a poster says, or the topic they raise, you don't have to respond. You don't have to "fight" back. Just ignore it and move on.

I think many take this place far too seriously, and it is a great place to discuss not only football but all general topics, but my god, it's a message board at the end of the day, have some fun with it.

Is the deadline at 4 pm today?

Amen brotha. Said the same thing yesterday.

If I remember he ran one of the fastest if not the fastest 40 at his combine,

Played at Utah ran a 4.29 on both attempts at combine.

Well, that has been an easier catch up after the suspensions.  The juvenuility has left the room for 2 weeks.

Let's see what the trade doesn't bring; not sure there are picks there to do too much with but Howie is gonna Howie.

Trust me, most of us get it.

It's not the first time there's been a complete keyboard schmuck in here.

Pretty sure Mod6 said end the drama and move on. The parties involved got their punishments.

People, this is a fan-driven internet message board dedicated to a team we all love. This is NOT your life, or at least...shouldn't be.

The whole "remember 20 years ago when I first started posting on the EMB with my Walmart-provided free AOL CD-ROM so I could dial into the internetz" flex is dumb. People that divulge personal things to complete strangers who then get a little butt-hurt when someone pokes some fun at them is silly.

Stop taking this place so damn seriously.

I'm on here to have some laughs, stay up on Eagles happenings, and share in some camaraderie amongst fellow fans.

When I close my browser, I literally do not think about this place in the least bit.

Some of you have made a message board WAY too big a part of your lives if you can't stop thinking about this place when you're not logged in. 4for4 or Bacarty or RTK or anyone do not affect my life in any measurable way, shape, or form.

If you have an issue with someone and you can't stand their content, block them. Simple. Easy.

I find it absolutely ridiculous I even have to type all of this, but some of you are frighteningly obsessive with this place.

Now, my after-school special speech is over.

Did he return punts in college? Asking for a friend.

I don’t expect anything big.  Would like a backup safety.

I expect a RB and possibly a S. They clearly don't think Sermon has what they need to beat out Scott, or he'd have been playing more already.

I would not be shocked with a Hines/McLeod trade package. McLeod off the bench gives me far more confidence than Wallace. And Hines takes over KR, and is immediately our biggest threat as a receiver out of the backfield.

We should run the ball about 40 times and get the hell out of there with a 24-10 win. The game should be over in about 2:45.

We'd like to think that, but dare I say...trap game?

Still think the Hunt trade makes sense.  They want a 4th but not sure they wouldn't take what they could get.  He is just wasting behind Chubb.  We need a Sanders insurance.  I'm not sure that is on the roster.

I’d take D’Ernest Johnson too. He’s a solid RB with no shot for meaningful snaps (barring a Hunt trade).

I would take Johnson over Hunt.  Will be cheaper, and he is used to playing in a complimentary role.

Not a chance. My highest trap game potential is the Titans. No Davis, and Henry runs for 200+.

Total wine recently came to Indy but i try to support the local stores as much as i can

Good.

I have worked in different levels of the liquor business for over 20 years and I know how much of a jackass David Trone is.

Total Wine's business practices are complete garbage. There is a reason why they are sued consistently in every state they go into. They try to stress or break any liquor law they can to get their way and drive independent store owners out of business. What they love to do is buy common products like Fireball or Tito's and sell it either at cost or way below cost to get people in their stores. Then they buy out cheap wine that only they carry prohibiting anyone from carrying it, then call it their premium brand and sell it at a massive markup.

Once they drive the competition out of the market, then they drive up the price of the common items back to the normal level or higher then it was before.

Don't think so.

He's been around for 3 years now, started 5 games in those 3 years, drafted by jets played for raiders this year.

He's a bit on the small side at 5'9" but 192 so maybe Gannon would try him at safety like Josiah Scott???

He's only played CB in the pros.

In order of preference if the birds make a move today:

1) 3rd safety

2) DT depth (NT experience preferred)

3) RB upgrade (likely on RB2 over replacing Sanders)

4) special teams help (returner and/or a high end gunner)

Hey man, you do you.

One of the guys at the center of all this crap literally lectured us about how he is a "contributor” and not just a poster.

Yet, we are the ones taking a message board too seriously? 😂

I hope we don’t trade for Hunt. That’s bad juju for a team that seems to have its S together. I’d prefer Harris, Hines, Johnson etc.
