Bears basically traded Roquan for Claypool

Just like the Eagles basically traded Reagor for Quinn.

Claypool is truly looking forward to being covered by Slay/Bradberry/Maddox again this season.

The Bears GM should get a random drug test from the NFL after that trade

The only drug test you for over performing, never for under performing

Ryan Poles, like Ryan Pace before him, is bad.

Now Ryan Sasaki ... he's a 10 out of 10.

Bears and Texans are in a real battle of wits on who’s a worse organization.

Both have some work to do to catch up to the Raiders

We get to play both of them. Yay!

Yeah i probably could’ve included them and made it a three horse race. Mcdaniels showing he’s just as bad as the first time he was a head coach.

That's why Reagor gets drug tested 18 times a season. Even on the bye week he sucks.

He's arguably worse. They should have just kept Bisaccia.

Was not a restructure.  Eagles took on the vet minimum and the Bears ate the rest for 2022.

Eagles and Quinn agreed to eliminate the rest of his contract.  Eagles could have just cut him at the end of the year for the same result, just agreed to it now in essence.

I don't agree.  His base salary was restructured prior to the trade.  That's why his prorated bonus's were greater than what they were prior to the trade AND his base salary (prior to the 11 games of 17).  I'll find the before and after and post it in my salary cap thread to dissect so we don't distract too much here.  Some townies will start queefing and I'm trying to avoid that here.

I put my thoughts in my cap thread in detail.  If you (or anyone) wants to look into it and tear into it, please do.  I have a margin of error of about 100k in regards to the bears doing the restructure.

I had a bad feeling when we were showing interest in him. I just didn’t want to go there.

Diggs, Tyreek, Kupp, should I stop ??

Waddle, Jefferson, Chase, AJ Brown, Davante Adams, should I stop now ??

Amari Cooper, Evans, Lamb, Higgins, Deebo, Gabe Davis, Locket, Metcalf, maybe I should stop now.

Hey, talk to Mr Claypool

Not sure about the hate for the Claypool trade.  They have failed to put any decent WR around Fields.  They finally got him someone.  And it wasn't their 2nd, which will be higher, that they gave up.

He was saying "in Claypool's head" he's a top 3 WR.

No. Nope, I get it. Just think it's highly weird. Even if it's his own behavior...it's taking a message board WAY too seriously. Like listen, we have a 40 year age gap. I grew up in the infancy of the internet. Nothing on here phases me anymore, least of which a site I come to for dumb laughs, to learn a little, and stay up to date with a team I love. I could get into a knock down drag out on here where someone calls my wife a prostitute, my kids bastids, etc. and I'll sling right back with 'em (I do avoid wife/kids stuff, I'm not a neanderthal). But, when I click the "X"? Poof. All gone. I don't take personal ish into work, and I sure as hell don't take EMB nonsense into my real life.

OK, maybe your kids aren't bastids...

Why is that ??

Because he was behind Ertz, and 80-90 targets is a rational number for TEs in a balanced offense

When Ertz was getting a crazy amount of targets here, people were crying about Wentz being obsessed with him.  And he kinda was.

But just watching each of these guys play, Im sorry, youre splitting hairs thinking Andrews or Kittle are an entire tier above Goedert.  No way.

Nope. But for our daughter? It was dammmmmmn close.

Claypool is an interesting guy to trade for. Still on his rookie deal, freak athlete, some theoretical upside there. But he's such a pain in the ass, ehh... I guess the Bears backed themselves into a corner.

Overall, I'm surprised by the significance of the recent trades. Roquan, Hockenson, and Claypool are big, young deadline names.

Claypool doesn't make them remotely close to a contender and they could've used that 2nd rounder on a more controllable cheaper WR.

Only thing I can see is adding Claypool this year for the future.  Maybe in the offseason they add a true #1, like the Eagles did with AJ Brown.   Then at least you are surrounding Fields with some weapons.  Claypool is a #2 at best.

I honestly hated when the Eagles were mentioned with him.  I don’t think he’s that good of a coach. I wanted sirianni over him. I actually liked sirianni hire. I didn’t know he’d be this good so soon but i liked his background. and thought he’d be better than mcdaniels. My biggest issues with sirianni was more his goof sayings in pressers but he’s actually gotten better at that with time. My issue with Josh McDaniels was I believed he’s was one of the most overrated coaches in the league and he came off as a dbag
