Jared Goff is a better Derek Carr.

He’s not great, not even top 10, but Goff on the Lions is still outperforming Carr with Davante Adams. The most overrated QB we’ve seen in a decade. Why people keep hyping him up I’ll never understand. Dude isn’t even on pace for 22 TD passes this year. Has had more than 23 once in the last 7 years.

Derek Carr completing 62% of his passes. Jalen Hurts completed 61% last year and that was awful to some even with his running ability. Remove the running ability and then what is it? And it’s not like Carr has a lower % because he’s going deep all the time; 6.6 ypa.

Give Goff Davante Adams and the Raiders D and they’re better than 2-5.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

It's weird some people who are fan of both teams would rather watch the eagles play one of the worst teams in the league (on Thursday night football which is historically terrible) over the Phillies playing in the world series.

This isn’t just the eagles playing a tomato can. This is the 7-0 eagles keeping pace over the 6-2 giants and 6-2 cowboys. When the eagles are the single best team in the league, every game in the NFL is a World Series game.

Now if the Phillies are up 3-1 this is a completely different conversation.

If I had to choose, I'm picking the Eagles game.

But, the great thing is, practically everyone who is able to post on this MB likely has the capability to watch both.

Told the woman I'm dating that I will be emotionally unavailable until at least Friday.

I’ll have one on projector, one on outside flatscreen. Closest I’m getting to a threesome as a 41 year old married dude.

Yup. Just have to decide what’s TV and what’s IPad.

I generally give deference to the Eagles no matter what, however, I did consider letting the World Series take precedent. However, I think football is a game where a bigger screen is necessary to really follow the play, whereas baseball is more easily tracked on a laptop/tablet, since there's less people and less going on in a smaller area.

Really, though, I just hate that they'll be on at the same time.

That guy earned a discount on SRO tickets for the next game.

The kid that failed to secure the HR ball and gave the umps an opportunity to call it a ground rule double, not so much.

Mine, too, but you can't ignore a championship series. This sh** has been hella fun.

Didn't think I could ever be annoyed by a Phillies homerun, but here we are

Following the Eagles occupies 95% of my spectator sports energy.  But the Phillies were my first sports passion as a little kid and....no one will ever convince me otherwise....nothing matches the sheer intensity of tight LCS and WS baseball.  Summer baseball has really aged out of the new generation of sports and is brutal...albeit rivaled by NBA and NHL regular season in its sheer vestigial ornamentality.

Football will be on the big screen and baseball gets the small screen on Thursday. My life does not have the room to be fully invested in all the Philly day-day sports like I was growing up. That being said, I got to enjoy the first part of the Phillies game the traditional way...listening on the radio. Brought me back to By Saam, Richie Ashburn and Harry Kalas.....

For me, it’s an easy call because I’m not a baseball fan in general. I am pulling for the Phils mostly for my mom’s sake since I don’t know how much time she has, and this could be the last Philly championship she gets to see. I hadn’t watched any of the games thru the NLCS and when they came back to tie game 1 at 5, I decided to turn it on. There was no scoring for the 2 or 3 innings I watched, and I turned it off and crashed during the middle of the 8th inning. I woke up later to see they won 6-5. I decided to watch game two, and Houston got out to a 5 run lead again that they didn’t recover from. I decided not to watch anymore, (yeah, weird superstition ish there), and of course, they killed it last night. So I’m doing my part to help out by not watching.

Just remember, if/when they win it all, I want my own ring, and I want my ring to say in all diamonds, "Didn’t watch us”.

I'll be watching the Eagles game along with the rest of America.

America doesn't care about baseball.  It's not 1998 anymore.

I wasn't arguing that they do care about baseball.  I was addressing your notion that "the rest of America" will be watching Eagles/Texans on Amazon on a Thursday night.

Yup... that's the HFA.  Having the opposition BP right in amongst the craziest fans is a genius move.  Having the Phillies BP up higher when they first set up the stadium made zero sense.

I respectfully disagree with your bolded statement.  That was not the case with Big Ben.  It was also not the case with Brady.  Mahomes and Allen both went to the Playoffs in their second seasons.

All 4 of those QBs are probably 1st ballot future Hall of famers and the exception to the rule. Have you seen the starting QBs in this league? A dearth of talent. Obviously very hard to find a good one. Eagles have struck out a bunch in the past at drafting QBs from Wentz to Kolb to even Foles at first, who came as a backup to finally win. I want to use our premium draft picks to fillin the holes that we have, now that we have our QB1. Saints pick may be a goldmine in fortifying this team in that manner. 🤞 And we will have some compensatory picks to boot at worst.

Maybe not America, but Philadelphia sure does.
